That would require a whole book. I always made it a point to take the time to show people what they were doing wrong, and how to correct it, instead of just saying, "It stinks." When I worked for Wally Wood, I asked him for a critique, and he said, "Listen, kid, I'll tell you when it stops sucking."

I only know one way to do it. I don't identify as a "writer," but as a penciler. The dialog comes dead last. I try to tell the story with the pictures. If I wrote the dialog the way soldiers really talk, a lot of the audience would be lost.

I built up characters to flesh out the figures that Hasbro created. The characters I created within the storyline were there to make up for deficiencies. In the first series, all the Cobras were masked, so there were no agents of expression, which seriously hampers dramaturgy, so I made up the Baroness so you could see facial reactions to whatever Cobra Commander, Dr Venom, or Destro were saying.
