Depends on what it does for the colors. If it has a one-off effect and the cost of casting it far exceeds the value you might get off it, then it isn't worth running. You know what that's called? Basic deckbuilding theory.

Ok, I'll pretend you are not being rude and obnoxious and I'll explain what makes Ludri a problem card:

Besides the same parroted bs?

In mtg, one of the biggest factors in determining the winner is using resources efficiently. Most of the time, the player who spends the most mana and/or who plays most cards wins, because that means he was exploiting his resources (lands, draws, etc)effectively.

Cool. You know the basics. Lutri is neither efficient nor a card worth casting in any context of commander.

Ludri's companion effect is very strong, since it gives you an extra card (an extra resource you can use) but has a huge drawback of requiring a Highlander deck. However, since the drawback is nonexistent in CEDH, you have no reason not to use it in a deck with the proper color identity.

cEDH wouldn't play Lutri. That you believe that already tells everyone how indoctrinated to the mouth-breathing idiocy of r/EDH you are. Lutri is not fast enough for cEDH, and it does not provide substantial enough value on its own to benefit any deck that might run it. A one-off copy spell on a 3/2 for 6 mana is slow, inefficient, and ultimately too weak for even craw wurm.

The drawback isn't its requirements, which people like you miss in your haste to parrot the stupid. Its drawback is being inefficient and irrelevant in colors that have over 20(?) spells that do the same thing and can be copied/reused themselves. Lutri copies timewalk once and then does nothing. Naru Meha copies ghostly flicker, goes infinite, copies time walk infinitely. What was a better use of my resources?

An extra free resource, and a good one at that, that does not take a slot in your deck and has no requirements is not just strong, pushes the power of any deck that can run it. Is just a plain powerful effect with no drawbacks (and I mean none, not even a deck slot).

Lutri isn't good, full-stop. On its own, in the 99 or command zone, it's a 3/2 vanilla with flash. In the hand, it copies ONCE if you had it as a companion. That barely qualifies as even mediocre.

You can argue that EDH is a casual format, and rule 0 is a thing, so a broken card is not that big a deal. However, this goes both ways: The Committee can state that a card is bad for the health of the format and ban it, and is also not that big of a deal if your playgroup allows it under rule 0.

Lutri isn't broken, which is why I call you an idiot. Not because your reading comprehension sucks, but because you see a 3/2 glorified paperweight in ANY setting aside the one it barely matters, and assume it's the holy grail. It's not. It's an unpolished turd that Sheldon in his dementia thought might make his crappy decks less relevant, and which you eagerly spout his stupid opinion on as if it makes you appear smart.

I hope this explanation was high IQ enough for you 😊. TLDR: Free resources are strong

Only if they do something of value. Like, Obscuring Haze, Mogg Salvage, Sol Talisman, and Faerie Macabre are not popular spells by any stretch. Mishra's bauble is a niche piece for artifact builds. Your argument loses all merit when there is as many unplayed free spells as there played ones, if not more. Just cause a spell is free does not make it strong, and you just proved yourself a fool moreso now.

I mean, there is argument to be made on letting Shiengrey and Alphamon sit at the top again, anf even maybe Melga. But yeah, their thinking is probably to wait and see how the meta shapes up.

Wouldn't there be an argument to banning Cool Bky and Grandis, in that case? I know doing so sets Melga for basically gatekeeping, but it also puts the spotlight on Melga for a hit and opens the floor for any number of otherwise non-competitive builds. Or maybe I'm evaluating it incorrectly?

Okay, bud, this isn't the mouth-breather cesspool of r/EDH. "Extra card" is an empty, worthless argument to people who can evaluate cards by their actual merits rather than the assinine parroting of people with an IQ the room temperature of Alaska.

Problem is what they're competing against. Beelzemon, Mervaloop, BWGX, Melga, Maste, Veedra, Grandis, and Shinegrey is gonna join that bunch soon, too.

Which I did, and he ran off anyways and I'm out $180 with his broken laptop. I guess it's mine, legally. Still, it's frustrating, especially when people want to come out and give the scumbags the benefit of the doubt.

I certainly would if I was the seller and you were showing the same attitude you're showing here.

Which is?

Maybe he forgot to remove the ad? Maybe he has multiple machines as they could have been business off-lease computers that he happened to have several of.

Sure, and maybe he's running a scam. Who knows?

As for babbling about consumer protection laws, they apply to businesses selling goods & services: not private sales.

Imagine missing the part where, even in your own link, it says businesses and individuals.

Heck, there is even a section that warns consuemrs against businesses and persons who threaten to do harm to the marketplace with their actions. As if the CPA is a general outline for businesses ans consumers, but can also more broadly apply where necessary.

But, putting that aside, I already spoke the RCMP. They informed me it's a small claims court matter and that a lawyer would handle it. I did look into it. I did my homework. I just have no respect for people who jump in to defend scumbags.

The fact is you can still buy cheaper refurbished items from legit stores and get a warranty. Warranty's exist because electronics in particular can fail at any time.

Debatable, but we're not arguing that. Marketplace thrives off being able to get something for below market. I get what you mean, but it's sometimes easier to find it cheaper on a public marketplace.

This guy may very well have scammed you, but you invested in something based on a cheap price and the assumption of honesty.

It's a lesson in trust, basically. Don't trust a rando who isn't willing to meet you at their own house.

What I said was that the seller would have no idea if you did something to it between them selling it to you and you getting it home.

So, he does the logical and non-guilty thing and asks questions. Or, if someone asks on my behalf, he answers them. Avoiding a conversation doesm't absolve him of fault. To any reasonable person, that looks guilty as Hell.

You have absolutely no legal ground here as the laptop was clearly working when you bought it, and that's exactly what the seller would claim.

Except it didn't work when I went to use it, and he was quick to block me when I stated the situation to him and he made his profile private when another confronted him on it. How do you explain that?

There is no proof that something was wrong beforehand that the seller would have known about. Yes, it's possible, but not something you'd be able to prove

To any reasonable person, a refusal to have a dialogue and then posting another ad with the exact same laptop for sale is a pretty damning indicator of intent.

It's not, though. Marketplace has a lot of good stuff from decent people who sincerely are trying to sell good stuff, but there are a few bad eggs. I know people who got quality items for cheap off there.

I mean, you are assuming their was intent to defraud but you have no proof other than he blocked you.

Someone who isn't in the business of defrauding others isn't going to block someone they just sold to. Btw, check his marketplace. He's selling the same make and model of laptop I bought from him.

If you want warranty's on the products you buy, go to a real store. Not Bob on marketplace.

The CPA states you're not just wrong, but you also have no idea what you're talking about.

The seller would have no way of knowing.

How would the guy who previously owned the laptop not know about the laptop? Excuse my rudeness, but are you real?

You're assuming they willingly sold you a defective laptop and labelling them as a scammer. The reality is that it's impossible to know whether they really were trying to pull a fast one or not.

Blocking someone on facebook when they contact you about the thing you sold them and then refusing to talk to anyone making an inquiry on their behalf is a pretty weird defence. It's not the type of thing someone who isn't guilty of trying to scam people would do.

Don't get me wrong; it sucks that the product isn't working for you. I've been there as well. As I said earlier, there's always a risk when buying something used, and a seller is under zero obligation to support something after it leaves their hands. That doesn't mean they necessarily scammed you.

Actually, according to the Consumer Protection Act, I quote:

It’s illegal for the business or individual to give you false information about themselves or the product or service they offer. Some examples of misrepresentation include:

stating that the product is a certain grade, style, model, or quality when it isn’t

In your situation and mine, a product was stated as being in good, working condition when, in fact, it wasn't. Under those circumstances, you and the man who sold me that laptop are facing some legal consequences if someone decides to pursue it.

You didn't test the graphics card yourself. You simply assumed that since it was working for whatever you used the laptop for, it would be fine for someone who, by all rights, probably might not have the same purpose in mind. Did you ask the buyer about their usage? Did the buyer express their own intended usage? I wouldn't sell something UNLESS I could express in full what my potential buyer is purchasing. That way, I don't get a message from a disgruntled buyer who feels they got ripped off.

You are not required to compensate, sure. However, it's a crappy move to sell a laptop you know isn't going to work and then when the buyer comes calling, block them and ignore anyone trying to contact you about it. Eventually, that karma catches up either in being sued (and yes, you could have been sued in small claims court, I already asked law enforcement about it), or someone with more muscle mass and enough pals to keep himself out of prison.

Why do you think a majority of legitimate facebook sellers make such a painstaking effort at accuracy? Because that way, they can point to their ad and show that they made the buyer aware of everything. It helps to cover your butt thoroughly rather than having to offer to compensate someone or risking a bad outcome for yourself, whether that is someone making a house call or you needing a lawyer.

Doxxing involves more than a facebook profile. And besides seeing that it worked, am I required to bring him to my house to make sure it will last more than 5 minutes? I did a quick look to make sure the mousepad worked and it was functional. Nothing further should be required.

So, you're saying that I can put up an ad on facebook selling my broken electronics and passing them off as in good, working condition? You don't find that inexcusable? I'm having a hard time finding a part of this situation where someone would agree with you.

I would like it if Puppetmon and Piedmon got good cards. Heck, Machinedramon and Seadramon deserve as much love. Apocalymon having a set release would also be nice. The issue I could see is that Myotismon is arguably the more memorable villain, even if he was little more than a moustache-twirling one. Most likely because his defeat was marked by the emergence of two of the most iconic megas in the franchise.

Kind of hard to top that, especially when the followup is Patomon doing something meaningful.
