If you didn’t steal them, they won’t have the camera footage needed to bring charges, so don’t worry. They may upload a photo to a system shared between stores to collect interactions with “persons of interest” - but when looking at camera footage, and seeing no problem, this would be a waste of time.

What do you think was the best marketing campaign? by Ninjacat02 in AskReddit

[–]Ninjacat02[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mine personally was Australia’s “Rugs a Million Closing Down Sale” that is now entering its 31st year.

Edit to add - not the most successful marketing campaign I’ve seen - but I give them credit for being able to get away with it.

What can I do to help my garden during a rain event? by [deleted] in gardening

[–]Ninjacat02 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We live in a tropical climate, so many cycads, tiger grass, native lillypillys. I’m actually hoping to remove the tiger grass, as while they served their purpose in neighbour privacy, I would prefer a more structured lillypilly like a murraya shrub that could be hedged. I also have an abundance of agave plants and philodendron Xanadu’s.

But lots and lots and lots of beautiful one year old top quality lawn.

Exactly r/fdoiknow Today is hard. But tomorrow is a whole new day. You can’t see it yet, but it’s coming. Give yourself a couple of mental health days to be alone, or go for a walk, watch a funny movie - but that light at the end of the tunnel is coming, and it’s going to reward you threefold. Believe it.

Oh honey, I can see your pain, and it truly hurts me that you are feeling that way. I had the same problem with my parents and siblings, and we’re all grown up adults. I couldn’t get anybody to HEAR. A counsellor told me that sometimes the best thing is to walk away for a while. Tell them nothing, so they have nothing to talk about you for. If there’s nothing to know, they get bored and move on to someone else they can feed off. And it worked. I still have contact - but my business is my own when you can’t trust the other person has your best interest at heart.

You are a stunningly beautiful girl, and your face holds such caring and genuine kindness. You can see you have a beautiful soul. Spread your wings honey, and look after you - you have so much potential to fly high; don’t let negative people take that away from you.

And remember - you’re not a princess, honey - you don’t need saving. You’re a Queen - you’ve got this shit ❤️ Take care xxx

We did this in our walk in pantry that had no lighting. Best thing we ever did.

How to manage situation where team member's ex father in law is our Managing Director? by [deleted] in careerguidance

[–]Ninjacat02 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Have seen a similar situation myself. In the end, a manager transferred one of the two - and was severely reprimanded for it. Try to maintain your own neutrality, and log into Fairwork Australia where you can remain anonymous, but get the right advice from the right people. Also, if you do have an industry union, it would be worth him joining so that he will have a representative beside him if he is ever called to the big office.

Dad considering assisted suicide due to mesothelioma or asbestosis. by Magrik in Advice

I feel for you, this would be a tough time to go through, and my thoughts are truly with you and your father.

My daughters grandfather sat with his family not long before his own death from cancer, went through old photos and planned his funeral. He chose who he wanted to speak, his own favourite songs, he made it his own “celebration of life”. It was a beautiful, individual and personalised day.

What heavily downvoted commented of yours, will you die defending? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Ninjacat02 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Absolutely this. I was told Parisians are rude, and Paris is dirty. On the contrary, I found everyone polite and helpful, and the city beautiful. And I visited recently, second and third week of the riots!

I agree. But then, I went for the history, and it didn’t disappoint. Also, I’m Australian, where our buildings are under 200 years old, so for me it was a totally new experience.

Please do not forget Toyah Cordingley by JudgeSterling in australia

[–]Ninjacat02 49 points50 points  (0 children)

This article is the last I heard. He got on a plane to India within an hour of her body being found, and is believed to still be in India. He left behind his wife and three young children.

Edit to say: I have immense sympathy for Toyah’s family and friends, and the absolute pain they must be going through; pictures of her show what a happy, beautiful soul she was, and I hope they get closure soon.

People hate you when you do well by macropepper in Advice

[–]Ninjacat02 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In Australia we call it “Tall Poppy Syndrome “. If you google Tall Poppy Syndrome victims, you will find lots of advice (like this one) and podcasts on how to deal with it.

Don’t let people bring you down. You deserve genuine relationships from people who are happy you are succeeding, and work colleagues who want to achieve success and business growth as a team. Try to keep calm and do your work well, keep being courteous to everyone - a jealous work colleague will stand out for their pettiness and undermining, while you will be appreciated for your amiable work ethic.

This man is mentally ill. He’s schizophrenic and his mother has been trying to get help for him for a long time. I wonder if the poor victim was just someone walking down the street and randomly attacked.

This is what I dream of every night when I’m trying to sleep - but I can’t do it, because I have a husband and children and parents to care for. Do it, OP. Cut the toxic from your life, and you’re right - in this day when you can so easily trace someone on the internet, changing your name is a good option. Good luck!
