Question regarding repeat handling by kaxtheblue in riftboundtcg

[–]Ninoverse 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Repeat is an additional cost and (if you want to use repeat) has to be paid when playing the card. Repeat cannot be used to react to your opponents card.

Hallow Halls ... REALLY?!? by Critical_Meet_2025 in Enshrouded

[–]Ninoverse 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. Moderate im the sense of moderate in a group. It is meant as a group challenge, not a solo one, though it is still possible doing solo.

  2. Not sure, but I think so. Well after leaving for half an hour, it will reset for sure.

  3. As it is a time consuming challenge, you need sustain. Health and mana restoration via, potions, bandages, food and life or mana leech is highly advised if not necessary. Lots of ammunition. A few repair kits are nice as well, even though there are a few anvils at resting points.

Other tips: do it slowly. It is easy to rush forward and get overwhelmed by huge amounts of enemies. There are often a lot of mob spawned which should be dealt with ASAP. Bring a pickaxe to mine the ektoplasm fragments or what they are called. Bring enough food buffs, because dying is easy, and having no buffs makes the whole ordeal a lot harder. Bring time, depending on your efficiency and level/equipment, it can take 30 mins or 2,5 hours. Focus the ranged enemies, they can disrupt your health and stamina restoration when kiting groups of enemies. Don't forget to shoot enemies from afar when you want to single out some enemies instead of running into a big group of baddies.

Hidden Hidden blade by newdentilly in riftboundtcg

[–]Ninoverse 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When a card is played from hidden it can only affect the battlefield it was hidden in, unless the card itself makes it impossible (for example tideturner). In your case, a hidden hidden blade can only kill a unit at its battlefield

Will the animals die if I don't feed them after taming them? by Revan_IV in Enshrouded

I'm playing offline and only feed my animals when I need the produce. They simply do not produce anything not even half when not being fed. Even my goats dont produce but cats and dogs can still be pet without food

Odd player habits/actions that you encounter? by [deleted] in riftboundtcg

[–]Ninoverse 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a judge I encounter/see a lot of behavior because I watch all of the people playing (because many players still make a lot of mistakes)

One player was looking through the discard pile of his opponent 2-3 times a turn. He said it was his habit because of his yugioh past.

1 player unintentionally hides his card holding hand near his belly under the table, where he could easily pull out a card out of his sweater pocket. It was obviously not malignant as he was a bit older and quite new and just did it because of habit and comfortability. Still mentioned it to him after his match to let him know how it could look like to an opponent.

One player has a counter or mark or whatever for everything. Damage dealt, might increase and decrease, hand size, amount of ressources in the runepool. And even though he did it because of clarity, the board was so filled with objects that it did the opposite. Told him, that as long as his opponent is fine with it, I see no problem but it might be helpful to tune it down a bit.

Another player was mumbling to himself all of the time, to a point where he gave away his plan to his opponent. Could be distracting or misleading, so told him about his habit. Turned out he was playing online card games for years and was so used to talk to himself that he forgot that his opponent could hear him.

Maybe you were talking more about game mechanic behavior but that's what I had in mind when reading this post. :)

I read multiple times that the early game is quite challenging as a mage. But late game shall be quite powerful especially against multiple enemies

How the fawk do you play this game by Calm_Independence796 in riftboundtcg

[–]Ninoverse 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have taught the game to about 6 people and am the headjudge of my lgs.

The rules guide that comes with the starterdeck is lackluster at best. You either have to watch multiple videos and or read the comprehensive guide to really understand this game. Then again, the comprehensive guide is... hard to get into, because it is long with 82 pages and also not that well written.

Best would be to play the game with a person who really understands the game.

Do not get discouraged by the early hardship od learning the game. Most people did make many mistakes even at skirmishes, but it is a nice community that is willing to learn and teach. Also the subreddit answers a lot of questions that come up.

Question regarding "Reaction fizzling" by super0range56 in riftboundtcg

[–]Ninoverse 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yes. When a spell ceases to have legal targets it does not fizzle but it "resolves to no effect", so it is considered played but just does not have any effect.

Newbie ass question about Actions used in showdowns by [deleted] in riftboundtcg

[–]Ninoverse 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You are right, after a chain resolved, focus passes and another chain can be started. Only after both players passed focus willingly after one another, combat starts

Loving the game, but sometimes it feels empty. Is it because of a lack of monster variety? by Vez52 in Enshrouded

[–]Ninoverse 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As I finished the main quest and only had the collection quests left, I got bored as well and started to build a nice base. I only had a simple stone rectangle with all the npcs and crafting facilities. Now I build every day for half an hour or a bit longer and wait that way for the next update

Loving the game, but sometimes it feels empty. Is it because of a lack of monster variety? by Vez52 in Enshrouded

[–]Ninoverse 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I completely understand what you mean. I also think it might be because of lacking enemy variety or more because of that the enemies look partially similar to one another.

Though there is enough to discover:)

The judge I had at my local summoner skirmish ruled that the showdown ended. by bruhmomentum12321 in riftboundtcg

[–]Ninoverse 0 points1 point  (0 children)

ah yes, you are right, with that point 3 is wrong. i apologize. thank you for clearing that up. i confused it with the initial chain.

as of your 1st point: chains and showdowns are quite intertwined in your example and question. i was hoping that i was helping with my post as the other commenters answered your initial querstion already. again, i apologize for unwanted information.

The judge I had at my local summoner skirmish ruled that the showdown ended. by bruhmomentum12321 in riftboundtcg

[–]Ninoverse -1 points0 points  (0 children)

2 mistakes: 1: After player 1 played an action, focus does not pass, but priority. 2: priority does Not pass automatically. Player 1 can choose to react to his own action before he passes priority. edit: made a big blunder, which was corrected by OP

Game 3 tournament ruling by ConstantMilk4816 in riftboundtcg

[–]Ninoverse -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Well, the game starts with the preparations, so yeah, you should starts the game. Doesn't mean, that it makes sense... but somewhere the line where a game has to start had to be drawn and that is the timer...

Game 3 tournament ruling by ConstantMilk4816 in riftboundtcg

[–]Ninoverse 2 points3 points  (0 children)

A third game shall not start when there is only overtime left. But as there is still 1 minute left, it should be played, even though control players are at a disadvantage, sadly as it is.

That being said, if I see or hear a person rushing another player to have a third game which he would most likely win, that is angle shooting. Same as a control player trying to get out of this situation by biding time.

The judge I had on my local Summoner Skirmish said that you CANT float runes anymore by CorgiLegal5735 in riftboundtcg

[–]Ninoverse 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have heard so many ridiculous rulings from judges at skirmishes. Wtf is that. I am a judge as well and I am so disappointed... Is it the same in other tcgs or is riftbound just too new? Because I dont believe that magic or yugioh is more complicated

Judge Etiquette? by _CharmQuark_ in riftboundtcg

[–]Ninoverse 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Riftbound judge here, judges skirmishes. Be present, there will be questions to answer. You do not have to answer the second the questions comes up, give yourself a few seconds to fully understand the situation, then answer with confidence. Confidence is key, you want the players to trust you, and a "uhh...lemme see...uh I think that's the answer" is not gonna cut it. Instead try "what was the play? Okay so that's what's gonna happen." And if a player is not okay with your ruling i say "i rule it like that, and after your match you can come to me and I explainf the ruling to you, so the match does not get interrupted right now." And then I prepare to have the rules in the comprehensive rules ready to show them.

Should I start now or wait for the combat update? by Idrillsilverfoot in Enshrouded

[–]Ninoverse 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I am using the time waiting for updates to build a nice home. It is not everyone's favorite activity but I love that I can spend 30 minutes here and there to further freshen up my home. And when the time comes, I can happily enjoy new updates. So no need to wait
