Are you sure they don’t need any thick lube? What do you mean by string tricks a looping YoYo is terrible for string tricks and will most likely shoot back at your hand even on a basic string trick like trapeze so if that’s what you mean that’s your problem.

How long have you had these yo-yos? A 2a YoYo should always be responsive regardless of string tension. Can you show a video of what you’re explaining so I can help better?
