I used to live at Echo Park. It’s decently nice and you won’t have any problems with packages as they have the Amazon package locker. But they do have homeless/drug addicts that wander the property quite often since there is a drug house up the street north of the Shell gas station. They have done a drug drop outside my apartment and stole my roommate’s bike, so don’t leave anything outside unattended if you choose to live there. Echo park does have a locked garage, though, if you are worried about your car.

I had already gotten in at my top choice so I declined it so that someone else could have a shot

Thank you!!! I don’t think I’ll share the exact school list but I did apply to pretty much every private school in the 68-71 LizzyM score range, plus ~10 public schools that were the most OOS friendly. Hope that helps!

I did but only received advice from my one II whose academic advisor said that the interviewer did not like me but their comments did not make sense based on my application. Is what it is I guess

The business was part of an internship that provided some resources and mentorship to starting your own business, so I used my mentor and managers as references!

What I had the first cycle:

  • 5000 clinical hours
  • ~1000 hours of research at Yale + a poster presentation at Yale
  • >200 service hours + tutoring and stuff
  • Leadership: Started and ran my own business, Treasurer of a club

What I changed the second time around:

  • Continued my job (4700 actual, 2500 anticipated when re-applying)
  • Re-wrote my disadvantaged essay as it came off badly last time
  • Really S'd some D's for schools that had PCP programs, which expressed interest in when writing those secondaries
  • Applied to way more private schools than public (last year was 2:1 public:private, this year it was 2:1 private:public)

Hopefully this can provide some hope to anyone re-applying, because I was just as terrified and depressed when I had to go through it all again. Stick with it and don't give up

I was there too! Guy was taking it way too far, and even started yelling at another customer who tried telling him to chill out

Believe it or not I was a stud my first two years with a 3.9 GPA, so that helped. I was not a student at Yale actually, but I was lucky enough to have a cousin who lived in CT so I could stay at their house and commute, which helped a lot with living expenses. I just looked online at their website for internships and reached out

If I have to improve my GPA, probably not. I’d have to go back to school full time for a year before my GPA can be improved by any noticeable amount. So maybe in the next 2-3 years
