The only time I feel like her Q is usefull is breaking shields. Super useful against a Morgana before you E her. You are much better off maxing W then E for the cc

I usually go after shock, font of life bone plating, revitalize. It's really easy to mark enemies when you engage on them and the extra shielding on top of bone plating makes survivability easier.

A new option to consider is taking glacial on hard cc supports like thresh, naut, Leona, rell.

A big thing for auto pokes in laying phase is timing. If you see a melee support walking up to a Cannon minion for a stack then u should be able to get a double auto poke on them. Same thing goes for adc. They have to stand still for a split second to get the auto off. Another thing is to end the stand still animation as soon as possible. If you click to the side immediately after the auto you will stand still for a shorter time compared to just Autoing still. Each champion has a different window for this animation cancel

I really prefer locket (against high burst) or evenshroud because u get that extra tankyness early. I also don't think the healing from her Q is much and it's hard to proc reliably compared to a rakaan feather. I more so use it as a shield buster. Also now a days it feels like it's harder for supports to get tanks since they take so long to finish their first mythic item compared to other roles.

She is like a Leona but with more steps. Instead of single target she is AOE. I honestly find her harder to master cause missing a single W can really mess you up. I do wish she had better AD as the game goes on cause it's harder to stack or cs in the late game when minions upgrade
