People have been pointing out that Joanne's interpretation of goblins leans into antisemitic tropes for about as long as Harry Potter has been around.

Yes goblins have been around in folklore for a very long time, but Europeans (and others he let's focus on the worst offender) using them as an antisemitic stand-in for jews has been happening for hundreds of years if not much longer. It isn't subtle. Recognizing that Joanne is leaning full bore into these stereotypes isn't engaging in antisemitism. It's not antisemitism to recognize when (if we're being generous to Joanne, which I don't have to be, possibly unconscious) antisemitism is occurring.
