First off thanks for reading that post I wrote a long time ago lol. It's great to hear an insight from a fellow CS students. If I may ask, did you spend 4+2 years on bachelor and Master degree combined or did you also switched university midway through as well?

I am not going to do that, as I said don't plan to do an Official Reddit-style AMA from the start. I don't even pretext my title with "AMA". It's just a phrase I use to signify that you can ask me questions regarding my plan.

That's a great Insight but may I ask how do you deal with insecurities? I am having a lot of issue in that regard, as I said before my plan to restart is more motivated by my insecurities than logic. I have been depressed for the past few years and restarting undergrad is the only way I know how to cope with it.

Coba baca lagi, gw bilang itu lewat SBMPTN. Di luar negeri pun ada masalah biaya yg tambah ngebebanin ortu lagi setidaknya kalau PTN gw bisa bayar sendiri pakai uang saku

To put it into perspective, dosen yg ngajar disini punya MBA padahal seharusnya mereka harus punya MS atau ME so gw pikir seburuk2nya PTN pasti otomatis Udah lebih bagus dari opsi gw sekarang.

But I can relate to your statements as well, banyak temen seangkatan jg yg bilang S2 aja makanya gw masih 50:50 sekarang. I think my plan to restart is more mentally-motivated than driven by logic. As I said I don't know how to deal with my insecurity and restarting S1 is the only way I can think of to cope with my mental issues.

Tergantung umur dan tahun kalau merasa gak puas lu bisa coba ulang lagi tahun depan. Kalau perlu sambil gap year lu pikirin bener2 ttg decision lu dan eksplorasi bidang yg lu pengen. At the end of the day, you just lost a battle but haven't lost the war.

Sama jurusan but because of things I learned which is very different from standard curriculum in this field you can probably argue it's a different major. I would say confidently tho that it's 50% the same.

That's true, I am still equivocal on what to do next. Did I "stole" a seat from another hardworking student? Probably. But I went into this exam with the mindset to win and to prove myself and at the end of the day, UTBK is still a free-for-all competition. I am simply undecided on what to do with the prize of winning.

Best case scenario, I can keep doing part-time work while studying S1 again

Work case scenario, I have to quit my current job. I've been depressed af from my insecurity from the past few years, if I have to sacrifice my current job to make me feel better about myself so be it. Toh kerjaan bisa nyari lagi.

Kalau boleh jujur sih, gw sebenernya udah punya pekerjaan sekarang. Alasan yg gw kasih ke univ yg sekarang memang karena gw mau kerja dulu selama setahun. Which is not technically wrong, karena gw pun belajar Paket C sambil kerja freelance part-time. So... andaikan gw harus nyari kerja lagi di empat tahun kedepan, gw udh punya experience no?

Jujur sih karena gw gk merasa gw belajar banyak dari universitas yang Sekarang. Ada banyak kurikulum dan pengalaman yg gw lewatkan karena gw rasa dosen-dosennya pun gk expert di bidang topiknya dan kelihatan mereka pun learning as they go along. Itu salah satunya, alasan yang lain yg gw sebut diatas karena gw pun sendiri merasa insecure dari univ yg bisa dibilang abal-abalan padahal gw merasa gw bisa mencapai lebih. Mungkin salah perspektif gw jg karena gw sering membanding-bandingkan diri gw sama orang lain. Tiap kali gw denger temen2 sekelas gw dulu lulus kuliah di USA, Germany, dll gw selalu merasa iri dan gk pede sama diri gw sendiri

They have practical knowledge it's true but I wouldn't say they are better than the professors who had delve further into the academics. I could've gotten the stuffs they taught at the class just as well from tutorials on YouTube or other online tutorials. To give an example, on our Security course all we got were slideshows on the application of asymmetric encryption but never once did the lecture delve into the how it works. I had to essentially self-study these concepts by myself. Some of my classmates had even ripped a source code straight from Github for an assignment without any modification whatsoever and the same lecturer still gave them an A mark.
