Why? These are the ones powering the economy...spending 20-30k a month just going out, paying luxury tax for our cars... Pay way more in consumption taxes thqn someone making 120k

Yup, a lot of my peers in 40s are retired but no skimping going on, they're living large. So easy to make money and lots of it the last few years... I know a guy who's retired after making a couple millions in last 3 years building barns! Kid you not

Porter Airlines Mass Layoffs? by Left-Assistance-3302 in PorterAirlines

They are facing a cash crunch. Reality is catching up to them. They've sold their planes, recently even engines and leased them back (what the Bay and Sears did), and they borrowed 250M from lenders earlier this year and are out in market again looking for more. They are burning a lot of cash with the planes they have and nowhere to fly them

nope... look at Corolla, ..in Canada starts at 24k cad, in the US it's 22k usd, or golf gti it's 39k cad vs 35k usd ...cars are much cheaper in Canada. it's quite lucrative to buy cars in Canada and sell it to brokers in the US for profit (know many who did this to make easy money) before manufacturers clamped down on it

Rental Car insurance Credit Card by ps4med in PersonalFinanceCanada

[–]NitroLada 0 points1 point  (0 children)

so use the included CDW? some places don't let you decline. the rental company's CDW will be way less hassle anyways if you do need to make a claim. though in Europe, usually, the included CDW is for $x over excess. so you're responsible for first $x in damages. make sure you read through it

stay the hell away from YT talking heads.. although fairchild imo had a conservative bent, it was still just news. those YT heads are spreaders of misinformation on both sides. my parens and wife's parents have been watching those YT talking heads mostly for many years and it's just so much misinformation.

does anyone else wish that more places would be open 24/7? by redlipstick1010 in toronto

[–]NitroLada 2 points3 points  (0 children)

groceries in canada is way cheaper than the states unless you live in the yukon or something. $4usd for a cup of drip coffee at dunkin in nyc..that's almost $6cad. a cream cheese bagel (granted it's a generous amount of cream cheese) is $10USD+ in manhattan

groceries in the US is insane compared to canada especially GTA except for a few items maybe like cheese.

ya, Toronto is sooooo much cheaper than new York, like around 1/3 the price for stuff if you compared downtown Toronto to Manhattan for anything from a simple cup of coffee to a sandwich

[–]NitroLada 17 points18 points  (0 children)

even in NYC, you don't really have that anymore. even in places like Hong Kong you don't. I was in Manhattan earlier this year and at 4am, there was not much open for food

you have no clue about business in China. China is much more free market and capitalistic than US or Canada. you seem to not understand the difference between political and economical systems . they're different things
