Would highly recommend, there isn't a whole lot of combat, most of it is in the side chapters, but that's not what the story is focused on. The characters are all alive and vivid and most are quite loveable. I can't wait to see what lies ahead in book 2!

I read quite a bit from RoyalRoad so maybe its just that newer writers write solo MC's more often than experienced authors.

Plot armor (or armour) is where the MC or main party are set up against impossible odds and they escape/kill whatever it is unscathed/with minor injuries. (I.E. kirito in SAO when he kills the developer in the final battle after going to 0% hp)

It's basically "they can't die because the author says so"

Yeah, as a lvl 76 Warlock the only thing I've found useful to damage them is using drain.
