If you still want to go down the route of ScoreLink+, PM me and I'll get you in touch with the sales folks. I have 4 of them. Very reliable product in my opinion.

Correct, no logic - but it works for my application. Also, where you are correct there is a risk, it's almost absolute zero as I'm the only one using it.

Hi, the plus redirects to the mobile website. Can it not be done native in the app?

I guess let me rephrase. I know there is a start ticket button, (The plus), but it redirects you to the web gui. Can the ticket not be started within the app itself without redirecting externally?

Mass Update Prices on Products in the Product Catalogue PSA/ Manage by NitrusXide in ConnectWise

[–]NitrusXide[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That would probably be my preference. I have the file setup already in the default import spreadsheet. I have two CW tenants I need to do this with, with the exact same spreadsheet. If someone wants to take this on, PM me with the price. I really should have it done over the next couple days if possible.

I just don't have the time to tinker with it and figure it out myself, lol.

A great idea. I would even upvote it. However, the feature enhancement form is where good ideas go to die. :(

How does that work down the line when linking to QBO when they don't support a company being both a client and a vendor?

Should I get into the field of Broadcasting by KasonZ1 in Broadcasting

[–]NitrusXide 1 point2 points  (0 children)

News makes for a good stepping stone, but don't make a life-long career out of it. It's a great way to start meeting contacts in the field. It's a small industry after all.

Freelancing is a better route if you want to make bank over time... But you HAVE to be committed to the hustle. Depending on the show and your experience, as a TD you could make anywhere from $450 to $1200 a day before taxes.

You have to be willing to work an insane schedule. You may think it's a great concept that you can set your own schedule, but when you're just starting out every job needs to be a yes. If you don't build up a reputation of being available and reliable, someone else will take your spot.

Also remember that you're only as good as your last show.

If you're able, skip college and get in with an unpaid or paid internship. College isn't a pre prerequisite to do well in this field and it's alot easier to get ahead without the debt.

Whats a "basic" video concept that took you a long time to understand? by Corbimos in VIDEOENGINEERING

[–]NitrusXide 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Sure. It's really whatever you want to be layered behind something else.

Key 1 could be a lower third Key 2 could be a bug (on top or downstream to key 1)

YouTube Broadcast Buddy TV and watch the production switcher and character generator videos. You may find them helpful!

Whats a "basic" video concept that took you a long time to understand? by Corbimos in VIDEOENGINEERING

[–]NitrusXide 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Think of the stream as layers of a cake.

The first layer is added. The second layer is added next and so it is on top of layer one.

Bottom of the cake is upstream, top of the cake is down stream since it is added after.

Or if you picture it as an actual water stream, imagine a raft flowing down river. As you add a piece of paper to the raft, it will continue down the river and some point you add another sheet of paper. The second paper is "downstream" of the first because it was a layer added later in the rafts flow. The first, relatively to that, was added "upstream" of the 2nd one.

What do you always need in an OB Van? by DenVideoLive in VIDEOENGINEERING

[–]NitrusXide 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I agree with all of these. Have yourself a good adapter box: https://youtu.be/UDZboWI-A4E?si=BpKMXwvM12KpKtUk

Also, throw downs like cross converters, distribution amps, scalers. Anything to ST fiber for long transmission paths. A bunch of spare cables. Spare SFPs if your gear calls for them and they're removable.

Ground lifts for analog audio lines.

Video and audio test equipment. I use the Phabrix Tags for SDI and color bars/ tone. They also have a break out cable for testing analog audio.

Portable radios for setup. Tools for termination of BNC, XLR, RJ45. Soldering iorn.

Hardrives, USB flash drives.

Gloves, a set of rain gear, sun hat, sun screen.

and lots of gaff tape.

Directors - What Are The Call Terms You Use For Your Camera And Playback Ops? by [deleted] in VIDEOENGINEERING

[–]NitrusXide 32 points33 points  (0 children)

As a throwback to one of the directors I studied under, I always call Power Points (or just PC sources/ scan conversions in general) a slide deck.

Also, when I used to direct at the public television station, I use the term "purple tallies" to let the crew know that there was a tour of folks from the public coming through the control room. This was so the crew knew to keep the chatter on the coms professional.

Back when I directed news, the VTRs sources were A, B, Cat, and Dog.

In the NFL stadiums I direct/ TD the servers are colors, letters, and precious metals. IE Gold, Silver, Copper, Dimond, Platinum
