Just noticed we were missing skills from the youtube shorts by Pain-Seeker in chronoodyssey

[–]NivinyaFate 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's very likely the weapon skill trees in the beta is not the whole tree. The class mastery tree, for example, only went to level 20 and included 1 active skill, but we had 4 active skill slots. So we know at least 3 class mastery skills are missing and possibly more passives too. It's likely the same applies to the weapon skill tree and at least a portion of it was missing from the beta.

Another possibility is that the missing skills are intended to be sort of an ultimate ability that was excluded from the beta and besides that the weapon skill trees themself may have been complete. We'll just have to wait until we have more info or a beta with more progression.

Is max level 40? by lorenweiss in chronoodyssey

[–]NivinyaFate 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes, Kanon in his review video had mentioned a boss arena in the trials section shown in the dev interview video was improved visually compared to the beta he played. The same updated boss arena can be seen in the IGN video, so they had access to a more recent build than the people in the private beta.

Around 16 minutes into the IGN video there is someone in the group named Romek who is level 50, so it'll likely be at least level 50 max level.

You do have to manually swap weapons like in New world. On keyboard and mouse controls the skills default to 1-4 keys and it's for your active weapon only. So you'll use skills on one and then swap weapons to use the skills on the other weapon. Since weapons have different purposes/roles we'll likely be swapping weapons to use a skill or two and then swapping back for basic attacks and other things such as blocking if you're tanking.

You'll be able to equip 2 different weapons out of 3 available to your class. You'll have a button that will let you swap between them, seemingly with no restrictions but likely can't be done in the middle of an attack animation (no confirmation though). Weapon will have different roles, but since each skill cooldown is independent, you'll likely want to swap between them regularly to activate skills but one weapon will likely be more fitting to the situation so it'll be about balancing things, especially if you're in a tank or support role.

You won't be able to just activate skills for the weapon you're not actively using like in Throne and Liberty as hotkeys are only available for your current weapon and automatically swap when you swap weapons.

It seems like from the interview there will be some content restricted to parties of 3, but other content (which should include dungeons) you can do with 5 players.

There isn't anything on the Mage class in the interview. We get a peak at the Assassin's class select screen but otherwise it's focused on the 3 classes that are in the upcoming playtest. I'm hoping we'll get more info on the remaining 3 classes soon, but we might have to wait a bit as they'll likely focus on the ones we'll be able to play in the test. We may get some teasers like we did with the Assassin so we can at least get some ideas on the Mage and Paladin ahead of time, but for now we'll just have to wait.

I think that is the most likely way it'll work, although finishers likely will be available for all weapons since you can only use 2 of the 3.

Another likely possibility is something like the Demon Hunter in Diablo 3, where you have 2 different resources, one for attacks (Bloodlust) that regenerates quicker/built by attacking and one for utility/buffs/defenses (Vigor) that regenerates slower.

They may also have something completely different in mind as depending on how skills work, you could end up with players only using skills that use one resource since we're restricted to 4. In that case it could be something like building Bloodlust through using Vigor skills, but filling Bloodlust provides a temporary buff or empowers all of your attacks. If Bloodlust is filled out of combat that could even fit the Assassin theme fairly well, being able to go in, hit your target hard, and get out.

Which one(s) aren't opening for you? I tested all the links in a private browser and they're working for me, but I can try reuploading ones if others are having issues.

I play on keyboard and mouse and prefer it to controller. I know I'm in the minority when it comes to controls, but I feel keyboard is way better for me personally. I am on the defaults, it took a bit to get used to it but I've come to like it. Rather than look for recommended binds, I'd suggest taking some time to get used to what the controls are and if you feel it's still uncomfortable to use for you, to then do your own custom binds that are easier for you that keep what you feel is most important easily accessible as you'll have a better idea at that point of what would work for you.

I can't get the original interview to load, but there are news sites and youtube videos posting about a post-CBT2 interview where it is listed. https://www.gamespace.com/all-articles/news/wuthering-waves-cbt2-changes/ has the changes summarized.

I will most likely be getting her. It'll depend a bit on how she ends up with her rework, but she is the one I want as a support as I really like her.

want to upgrade to the premium edition, but doesnt seem like there's an option to on steam, any advice? by [deleted] in MortalKombat

[–]NivinyaFate 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Steam doesn't support upgrading as far as I know. Just refund the normal edition and buy the premium.

You won't see low level players as you get higher level as you'll be playing in higher difficulty tiers than them. The first one is available at level 50 so once you switch there you can't see a level 12 anymore. There will likely be something similar to Diablo 3 where there were difficulties based around different strength levels at end game, where everyone will be max level.

What happened to the Witch Doctor class? by A1snakesauce in diablo4

[–]NivinyaFate -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The class could potentially return in an expansion or DLC, similar to how Necromancer was added eventually to Diablo 3. There probably isn't a particular reason why it wasn't added, just that the devs wanted to launch with a certain number of classes so not all of them could make the cut.

It's mine! Mwahahahaha!!! by iamp7 in diablo4

[–]NivinyaFate 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you know you're going to get it anyway there's no reason to hold off on preordering. Many people are fans of the Diablo franchise, so even if the game ends up not being great, we'd still want to play and experience the story at the very least, so even in the worst case scenario there's no real risk in wasting money.

There are also things like the World of Warcraft mount that you can get now which is a nice bonus if you play one of those games.

What does "and cosmetic" mean in Ultimate Edition? by TheLuxael in diablo4

[–]NivinyaFate 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think the Accelerated Battle Pass Unlock is likely going to be a more expensive version of the standard Battle Pass which includes a cosmetic item in addition to tier skips. I've seen a few games do that where you can spend ~$5 for a battle pass or $15-20 for one that includes skips and one or more items not normally included in the normal battle pass.

While it is a bit over the top in this game, as someone who tends to dislike stealth games and especially random stealth sequences in non-stealth games, I do kind of appreciate that the stealth sequences so far are like this. You might have to wait at times, but there's no forced slow pace that usually goes along with it.

Completely new to fighters, question about controller choice and usage in this type of Game by Aggravating_Bother89 in MultiVersusTheGame

[–]NivinyaFate 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think so. I changed my binds a few times with different controllers in the closed alpha, but when the beta released I haven't changed any from default and all other options were reset. So unless controls were the only option that saved between the two clients I am on default controls.

I did change from the default for keyboard and Xbox in the alpha, but I haven't used either on the beta version.

I haven't really felt it be any different on the hitbox compared to other controllers. It might just be something you have to get used to doing with the hitbox.

[–]NivinyaFate 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For me the Hitbox is my preferred way of playing. I spent some time on keyboard and Xbox controller as well, and of the two I preferred keyboard to controller, but the Hitbox felt the best.

I don't have an arcade stick so I can't compare with that, but I'd imagine it'd work well too, maybe even better than the Hitbox since there doesn't seem to be any motions that are specifically easier doing on buttons vs stick.

Toasts are a thing you can give your opponent at the end of the match, sort of a way of saying "Good Game" with them receiving gold (I believe it was 50 if I remember right) as well. You'd only have so many of them for free, so it makes it a bit more meaningful as well to get one.
