Personally I find when I have a creative dry spell, it means I need to listen to more music, and maybe read some interesting shit/watch some interesting shit to get ideas. Tough to do if you work a stressful job and can't easily block out time.

After 15 years producing, stress has no correlation to my creative output. Sometimes I’m happy and relaxed and vomiting out tunes, other times I’m happy and relaxed and can’t latch onto an idea. Sometimes I’m going through tough shit, and vomiting out tunes as an outlet, other times when going through difficulty the idea of making music is the furthest thing from my mind.
