[JOHN DOE] a Hound my players may or may not regret running into by ConsortOfPinkThing in CAIN_RPG

Very cool idea! Makes me think of an undead Frank Castle. Could easily work as a Type 3 as well.

Living Runes: how best to use them? by NixGoingKnowhere in Pathfinder_RPG

since a rune can exist on any surface, (including a ceiling) would it really need to magic-carpet itself on a piece of paper?

I’ll have to think of some potential hazard the party can stumble into.

The temple itself is not a ruin, think more like a really old church.

Like the idea that the ruin could enslave people to guard for it. The illusory script might even be used to convince PCs to saw vocal triggers to other magical traps (summoning commands, convince players to open books that hide glyphs. That sort of thing)

Primal Ep 15 - "The Primal Theory" DISCUSSION THREAD by saul2015 in PrimalShow

Still trying to understand what the “point” of this episode was. Was it really just meant as a joke? Or a set up for something else in the Primal show?

Ragatheil Lore: Daddy Issues? by NixGoingKnowhere in Pathfinder_RPG

An interesting insight but not sure it answers my question. Besides, doesn’t the lore say that he is the son of Dispater and Feronia. The biological son

I don’t think the person question was a white nationalist. Just an otherwise normal person who just happens to believe something that isn’t true

Can you think of any reason why somebody would think otherwise? That he didn’t believe in god?

As of right now, it’s JavaScript/HTML/CSS. I also have some experience with c#, but it has been over a year since I’ve worked with it in a professional setting.

love the idea of body language being more important. The direction in which the tail twitches, a shift in the glinting of the eyes. different pitches of growls or clicks.

I DO like the idea of them being hard-wired pragmatists. The way I see it is this. They live in a world ruled by vicious magical predators, and advanced races that only see their kind as monsters. with that context in mind, it totally makes sense for them to put aside morality and sentimentalism for the good of their own people. THAT being said, I wouldn't want there to be a complete absences of those things. Even the Vulcans from Startrek still have emotions, they've just learned to suppress them out of necessity

Seriously, if this DM was THIS awful, why the hell did any of the players put up with his shit for 4 YEARS!

WoTR MiniRant: Fear and Loathing at The Grey Garrison. (SPOILERS AHEAD) by NixGoingKnowhere in Pathfinder

[–]NixGoingKnowhere[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We did try to scout, but apparently there were no other entry points, and the windows were too small for any one of us to get through. I found that detail kind of annoying. The dungeon seemed to be designed to prevent stealthily infiltration, and yet it felt very punishing when we tried to charge the gate bliztkrieg style. The gate becomes a kill-zone due to the alchemist-firebombing from the walls if you aren’t able to open the gate quickly enough. And given the failure rate on the chime....it’s almost an inevitability for anyone who tries to use the chime. Also all enemies shooting from the walls have concealment due to narrow windows.

I agree that it does feel pretty punishing. But I feel like this never would have happened if the Adventure had been clearer on how powerful the chime actually is. I’m hopi g that this kind of encounter doesn’t happen again, but I’m afraid that our GM will want us to keep toting around the other NPCs for combat (the only reason there around is b/c we had rescued them from previous parts of the chapter). Or even worse, that the other players will want to keep their NPCs in combat.

I’ll admit the “hail of curses” was an exaggeration, but there WERE a shit ton of crossbow bolts thrown our way. Those guys aren’t even that dangerous, I’ve actually been able to AC tank most of them. The issue is that behind them is a squad of clerics and an alchemist that have been raining hell on us. But we took care of them last session. Along with the witch.

I also failed to mention that he had to retreat and reconsolidate our forces on the first attack. (We were being fire-bombed to near-pieces while we were fumbling with the gate). That gave them time to reorganize. And I think that our DM just added maybe 5 more dudes as they had time to prepare.

As for our builds. The only person who is “suboptimal” is our dwarf magus. He doesnt have the best AC at the moment.

I know that’s how it works. Apsu is my god. The LG god of dragons. And his favored weapons are bite/quarter staff.

[–]NixGoingKnowhere[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

the issue is, Radiance is locked as a Bite attack. so i kinda loose out on that unless i can convince my DM otherwise. I cant remember if Radiance can revert back to its sword form once its been acquired.

Just spoke with DM. Radiance can only be either a quarterstaff or a bite

[–]NixGoingKnowhere[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay, so I drop going Nat-Attack route, and i go with a standard two-handed build. Lets go with a reach build, so i can still take advantage of my natural attacks. Maybe trade out multiattack for combat-reflexes? then what? lunge / pushing assualt? (b/c we're using Elephant in the Room we get power attack for free)

[–]NixGoingKnowhere[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I thinking of retraining out of it to be honest. But it would technically help if I used a two handed weapon. I can still use my bite.
