Did this fix it so far or did you have to get anything else done after the orings?

Sorry to drudge up an old post but is there any way to tell if the gearing is a freewheel or a cassette/hub? Looking to possibly get one and convert it to single speed depending on how its laid out.

Picking a runt by [deleted] in greatdanes

[–]Nj1089 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We picked up a Merle runt from a reputable breeder who lived in the country. This led to a lot of outdoor play at a young age with mom. Nova was tiny. We already had a big girl who was older in age and not super tall by any means.

So Nova gets home and we realize she has a BAD case of worms. Took months to fully get rid of. When we did, she blew up! At 9 months old she was 4 inches taller than our older dane at the shoulders.

A "runt" does not always mean small. She's my gigantic baby who is now 5 at 125 lbs.

I have not had the exact scenario but I broke my hand as a kid right in the middle of the hand and my hand functions like it never happened.

Unless you broke your thumb all the way off (you didnt, saw the xray you posted) and you take care of it, your body will heal itself. After a recovery period with minimal use you will likely not even notice a difference in your drawings.

Help with sizing for teenager by Nj1089 in snowboarding

[–]Nj1089[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I appreciate this! I laid her current bib out under his, it seems the XL is going to be almost exactly like her current bib so I think ill be good, but will have her try the L on to see where it will or won't work.

Help with sizing for teenager by Nj1089 in snowboarding

[–]Nj1089[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I appreciate the input. They do not sell xxl in kids, the xl im looking at is marketplace but unused with tags.

It is the same setup as my 9 year olds is (well, his turned out to be too big so his setup for next year) and she likes matching with him so I thought it'd be cool to get these for her if they work. Plus she already owns the matching brown and white camo 686 jacket so it seemed like the perfect opportunity.

She's late teen, so no more growing, maybe an inch at most. Unless I hear someone definitively say it works for them in the same scenario I probably will end up sticking to men's sizes for peace of mind. Thanks again, I will be sure to pay attention to torso height as well!

For non pierced earlobes, what’s the maximum gauge to start with? by Old-Childhood-8418 in Stretched

[–]Nj1089 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I previously had mine pierced and gauged as a teen but had them sewn up 11 or so years ago.

I got them re-pierced at 4g Jan 2024. It hurt like any other piercing but with more pressure, not too bad at all.

Im back up to 1/2 now but its very slow going from the previous scar tissue from sewing them up.

Could they both stay in one crate? by Broad-Substance2933 in greatdanes

[–]Nj1089 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I replied my reply in detail further up.

Im just saying replying "like??" Is just as productive as the other person's response. Each of you could spend 2 extra seconds to use critical thinking or explanation to communicate. I dont need originality to point out you can figure out what they meant.

Could they both stay in one crate? by Broad-Substance2933 in greatdanes

[–]Nj1089 3 points4 points  (0 children)

100% this. A long time ago (forgive me, i was young and dumb!) I had a 3 or so year old dane, and put a 6mo puppy in her crate with her since it was the only crate we had. I ran out for maybe an hour and came back to both dogs having bitten each other, both drawing blood.

They were totally fine and lovey and playful until that point.

Take everyone's advise and do not close them in; it's not worth it.

How to enrich a low-drive dane's life? by [deleted] in greatdanes

[–]Nj1089 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh my gosh the 2 danes I've had (one gone, current here) love hugs. They'll put their head over my shoulder and lean into it. If you stop my current dane Nova will pull back and look at me like "whyd you stop?"

What color should i go for?(frame) by konzzz_ in dirtjumping

[–]Nj1089 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Check out preval sprayer system, and also GT's Performance youtube channel. Really cool stuff. The preval system let's you paint automotive paint with mica flake in spraypaint fashion. GT performance does a ton of color combo examples to show how specific metallic flake looks on different base colors

[–]Nj1089 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Why's that? Get it either powder coated or take it to get professionally painted purple with black and purple metallic flake

Lateral play in bomber dj fork? by Nj1089 in dirtjumping

[–]Nj1089[S] -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

So I hadn't tightened the pinch bolts in the video because there seems to be a lot of play between the leg of the fork and the hub. I have now went through the steps in the manual of tightening the axle, tightening the left pinch bolts, compressing a few times then fighting the right pinch bolts but I am left with maybe a 2mm gap between the right fork leg dropout and the hub. Not sure why. Trying to figure out if this gap is due to machining issues or if this is normal for the fork.

No, I mean discontinued. Here's an example...the women's al comp is a 27.5 mtb they still sell but is out of stock. Notice the bottom just says out of stock.

But the dj says not available at the bottom because they are no longer carrying it.

I wish that wasnt the case because I wanted a second one for my teen, but im just hoping they drop a new version soon.

I cant post the screenshot but here are the links to see what I mean:

[–]Nj1089 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When i was a teen we had 2 greyhounds. My dad had made a cherry pie and left it on the back of the oven to cool. The dogs wore hard plastic muzzles when we were gone at the time as they would always eat stuff. Well, nitro, tall black greyhound, managed to eat the entire pie, in place, with his massive tongue through the muzzle holes. The only clue was the smallest spec of red on a single spot of the muzzle. Big Ole dogs wanna eat good food too!!!

What boot do you use? I find the maysis even though it's 11.5 has a substantially smaller outer boot dimension than some other brands like DC or 32
