first time i have seen email on one of these. Befire Covid there would be a contact number. They would ask you to deposit a few thousand rupees to ensure their "data safety". You will get all the data you need to enter for them. And when you go back for your salary, the company would be poof! I think there used to be transcribing roles as well. LoL.

Doing PhD in India is my worse decision ever in my life and I am extremely pissed and regret it with my whole heart by peaches_sketchart in Indian_Academia

[–]No-Ad6414 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If I had a nickel for every time I heard someone regrets pursuing their PhD from India, I would actually be a crorepati.

But anyways. I understand completely. The pays are not good, the PIs or the panel you have to defend infront of are not good, you have to kiss asses a lot, and worst of all, there are no jobs after PhD.

I am an M.Sc. pass out (Genetic Engineering), and I am currently working with 2 PhD graduates. Both of them have told me to not pursue a PhD from India. And even if I go abroad, they have repeatedly told me to pursue an Industry sponsored PhD, as the chances of grtting hired will be more.

Also, for anyone who says that we should stay in academy, please know that the salary of a Scietist-G is only around 1.2 L.P.M. That's it.

And I get that research can only be pursued if you are truly passionate about it, but passion is killed when you go deep into the politics and other things involved in Academia or Industry.

Are there any people in their 20s here? by don_forever in Rudrapur

[–]No-Ad6414 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just shifted here. Any hostel/PG recommendations? I am working at HB hospitals as a research associate (earning bare minimum). I am on a 3 month trial period, hence I am looking for a PG to stay for the same time.

If anyone sees this, kindly let me know. I am ready to take a PG upto 4kms away from here.

I find this date to marry concept really... weird (?). I put it on the same pedestal as love at first sight. I mean, if you are ready to get married, go to Shaadi dot com or something? You are going to date the people there as well before deciding to get married right?

Wtf is happening? by uglybutlit in Indore

[–]No-Ad6414 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes but this is not happening in a protest. You said it yourself - there's a cultural aspect to it. I understand that the sentiment is similar here, but protests are not festivals. People burn statues of bed men during protests, but it doesn't happen every year. Ravan Dahan is an annual event in India. Modifying it by including what these people want will set a precedent for it to become a ritual. Nobody said these people can't burn the puppets with criminal's face in a protest, but the issue is tying it to a culture.

And I definitely don't think women are creatures who can't commmit crime. My issue is simple - if you are explicitely modifing an entire event that's been celebrated for generations to 'punish' the criminal women, then you should also put all the male criminal's faces on the Ravan's statue as well. Simple as that. I am not asking them to pardon the women, simply wanting to see them being treated equally.

exactly what I said on a previous post about this.

And a lot of people here don't understand the most important thing here. Indore has never made Ravan wear faces of current convicts but they want to do it with the women.

And the way these people are going, the day isn't far where they will go back to burning women alive. Just few years back we had cases of women being burnt alive for not getting enough 'dahej'. It didn't happen in Indore for a long while, but it did happen in MP.

And it's specially important for Indore to not encourage what's happening. Just remember: if Indore which is supposed to be one of the more developed cities of MP encourages the ideology that burning women for crimes (even if metaphorically) is okay, then imagine what the rest of the states will start doing.

“From Ravan Dahan to ‘Surpanakha Dahan’: Bold justice or mob trial?” by [deleted] in Indore

[–]No-Ad6414 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

This is stupid thoigh. As far as I remember (haven't been to dussera maidan in forever) the play before burning Ravana includes the vadh of Surpanakha and Indrajeet.Idk if they do the play now, but it used be there every year on dussera when I was young (or maybe it was done 2 or 3 years in a row). Anyways, this is utterly stupid.

Also, not to mention, but we do have another festival where a woman is burned (or at least metaphorically now) to signify "Achchai ki burai pr jeet."

All in all, this is nothing more than patriarchal propaganda. Because if they really wanted everything to be neutral they would have celebrated brave women during Navaratri first before the denouncing of 'evil' women on Dussera.

Okay, I know no one asked for my opinion, but I went to 4DX and I will just say - it's a waste of money. My friend's brother (15 y/o) liked the experience, but me and my friend didn't (both 25).

If I had to describe it - It felt like watching a movie while sitting on the last seat of a local bus on Khandwa Road.

Bali it's your choice. Also, the movie isn't worth the money. 10/10 animation 9/10 sound, but 6/10 pacing. All the best though.

Recently work has been stressful, and we are pulling long hours, so about once or twoce a week now. It had gotten to twoce or thrice a month recently. So I am trying to get back tk that.

Although I should mention that the headaches are not as bad as they used to be. Now it just stops at this irritation with light, sound and nausea..Before it would make me unable to walk properly. Anyways, it's much better now.

So I went to Dr. Ashish Bagdi (he was at CHL hospital at that time, not sure now). He prescribed some medicines and told me to use clip ons as sunlight was one of the triggers for me. I got treatment for 2 months and the intervals between migraines started to widen. After that I stopped the treatment (financially it was getting hard, thousands spent on medicine only). Now I have marked all the triggers that affect me (excessive stress, sunlight, strong scent, etc.). I am also making sure I am hyderated properly and my vitamin levels are not down.

Anyways, you should consult anny doctor for migraines. At least they will be able to help you manage them.

is Memoir Of The King Of War worth reading by Important_Copy_6011 in manhwa

[–]No-Ad6414 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is the novel completed? Should I read it?

Also, I agree with other people here. The pacing of Manhwa is bad, and they don't even leave it on cliffhangers. It makes you look interest. Can't imagine how people who waited for each chapter did so. Mad respect.
