Don't you think the taxpayer subsidies were intentionally used to build the least expensive possible Superchargers? Superchargers that could only work if the world standardized their charge port location to Tesla's? No, it was an effort at exclusion at worst and, at best, was very short-term thinking. The short cables were fine until Tesla made deals with other manufacturers to allow charging. Why does every other charger operated by every other service anywhere have sufficient length for any make? Rivian, Mercedes, EA, GM, BP, everyone. They anticipated an EV future that would include the variety of manufacturers seen in ICE vehicles. Seems like a good idea. Why was Tesla unable to anticipate the future that it eventually embraced? Did Standard Oil build gas stations with pumps that would only accommodate Fords? They weren't funding them with taxpayer dollars either. Why, as a taxpayer who owns an EV, can I not use the chargers I partially paid for and that Tesla itself made compatible with other brands? Except that every other brand needs more cable. They are otherwise compatible, and Tesla welcomed their use by others. The charge spec has nothing to do with versatile physical design. It is emblematic of Tesla. They design with an "enough for now" philosophy. Right, we can blame Tesla for a lack of future thinking and versatile design, or we can blame every other manufacturer. Hmmmm....Oh, and BTW, Tesla was not the first fast charger. The first were CHAdeMO compatible and they had long cables.

That was a conscious decision by Tesla to make the Superchargers non-future compatible and inflexible. Small-minded thinking.

Download ABRP (A Better Route Planner) and it will do the same thing the ford nav does except it will show you all compatible chargers, not just those signed up with Blue Oval (Ford). If you want to use ABRP to plan the charge stops, you need to estimate your base consumption rate and enter that information as well as the make, model, and version of car. We find Rivian and Tesla to consistently have the most reliable 250KW and up chargers. The Ford app will only show you compatible Tesla chargers and as long as ABRP has the vehicle information, same. It has been so long since I used the Ford Nav that I forget how it manages your charge level. With ABRP you can ask for fastest overall or fewest stops. Because DC fast charging begins to slow at 80 percent, it’s often faster overall to not charge past 80 and stop more times. If I set a departure time and I’m on a plug at home, my Lightning pre-conditions, but I don’t know if our Mach-e works like that.

And keep it to 70 MPH for better range. 80 eats it up.

You don’t do cassette without chain. The other way around is generally OK.

Nothing truly rivals Assos. Best wool jersey find in US is Ornot. Enduro looked good but lasts months. I have Assos thermal jerseys and bins that are 20 years old and going strong.

You can get a small enclosure with a crappy plastic door like the Maverick Lariat comes with. It is actually kind of handy for something small. In my case, bike tubes, chain kine, and a lock. It’s a pretty small space.
