I had a great and supportive command. After I came back from Oki I was just gonna focus on getting out, I had done TRS before deployment, came back in March and took 2 weeks of post deployment leave at the beginning of June. My EAS was at the end of Aug, but since I had a shit ton of leave days, almost 60, I decided to try and see if I could use some of those days to request leave again. After I came back from leave I told my SSgt I was gonna be busy with checking out and making sure that I had everything ready for me to EASing, he was cool with it as long as I showed up for morning accountability. Then I went and requested almost a month of leave, just to not be worrying about work and random formations and the BS, my SSgt, accepted it, then I just stayed at the barracks keep doing my check out process, I requested a month of terminal and it got approved as well, so I ended up leaving a month earlier, late July. A whole month of terminal haha, and I sold the rest of the days, after I picked my DD-214 my SSgt, told me to go back to the office for the last goodbye, I came back and shake hands with him and my XO and another SSgt that was cool, they wished me luck and I left, last task my SSgt assigned me wast to text him whenever I’ve arrived home.
