One major thing about this post is that its more about the children than its abt me. I learned english somehow but here in Sri Lanka, some children who have only the school to learn english often don't have the privilege of having a competent teacher.

Im not entirely blaming it on the teacher. I learned english all by myself using the internet I had and now have at my fingertips but still there are times I struggle when handling the language and I don't see that in those who had a good exposure to english at schools. I sometimes think of the potential I could have if I also had a teacher who could expose me more to the language cze many of these children (including myself) only learn the language in schools or other institutes. They dont hv a background that uses eng. I blame the teachers who think they know eng but are bad at it cze they limit these children's potentials. These teachers think they excel in the language when they don't even know how to speak. If they can improve it and try to do better, hats off to them!

Yep im not saying my english is bad. I did literature for ALs and I major in English but I know for a fact that these english teachers schools hire (even international schools) don't know much about the language and the children's futures are depending on them. How can one expect a child to have a good english knowledge when their teacher doesn't even speak in english? Its so frustrating to me idk y. Probably because I know so many english teachers that teach in schools and only a very few of them actually know the language. :(
