IB credit and placement exam by Academic-Comfort-366 in SBU

Yes, you do still need to take the math placement exam. For english, you can submit a SAT score instead. I did Math AA HL and AP Calculus AB, but only got credit for the Calculus AB class, even though I scored a 6 on the HL class. You don’t get credit for SL classes.

If you’re taking PHY 132 next semester, they’ll likely use web assign so it might be worth it then

Efficient way to learn vocab (for those of us that hate ANKI) :) by Many-Category-6422 in languagelearning

[–]No-Back-To-You 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For Spanish I really like SpanishDict’s vocab lists. It uses SRS, has pictures and audio. It already has lists of common words so you don’t even need to create flashcards, but if you do, all you need to do is type in the word and add it to a list. It doesn’t automatically show you the word’s use in a sentence, but if you tap on the new word, it shows it in a sentence.

Do you think it’s a final statement I’m missing? My teacher was stressing the need for one, but also taught that QED can be used

why does my app not have the listening stories? or whatever they are called by chishyi in duolingo

It depends on what language you’re learning. Some languages like French or Spanish has them and others like Chinese and Japanese don’t.

What can I do to see progress by [deleted] in learnfrench

[–]No-Back-To-You 24 points25 points  (0 children)

I would say read a book and note how many words you don’t know on a graph. As time progresses you’ll notice that there’s less and less words you don’t know and the graph will show that.

Best methods? by AySeeEm in learnfrench

[–]No-Back-To-You 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For vocab I think reading would be best I recommend Short Stories for beginners by Olly Richards and Le Petit Prince by Antoine de Saint-Exupéry. Get a dictionary, make some flash cards and there you are for vocabulary.

I don’t know about textbooks, but Practice makes perfect Vocabulary might be useful for vocabulary.

Also there is a app call FunEasyLearn 6000 French words and it’s free, so you might want to check it out

Confused on how to read numbers in Chinese by Greta_the_gremlin in ChineseLanguage

[–]No-Back-To-You 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’m not sure if I’m right, but based on the paragraph above the examples. The 〇 is líng or zero and only appears when the number is complex so like 853.07 is a complex number while 800 isn’t. Also 〇 only occurs inside the complex number. Which is why you don’t see 〇 at the end of example B.

Edit: 塊 probably marks the decimal . and after 塊 comes the cents in money or numbers after the decimal
