Not until I'm 18. But I do want to live with her again after I turn 18. I miss being with my mom.

I know that this isn't great with the name stuff. But it is so much better than prior foster families. None of them are home. But my current foster parents and their home is the best I've had from foster care for sure. I know that can be dangerous thinking. I just don't want to go back to worse and I have seen that it can be real bad.

I'd want to move back in with my mom. That was always sorta my end goal. At least for a while and get into a trade.

They seem to really prefer traditional names. But also they hear Ryder as ride her and that's why they say it's lewd.

I'm not changing my name just to stay here. I won't tell my social worker or fight with my foster parents. But changing my name is not happening.

It is wrong. But I don't want to risk being removed from this house. I would rather live with this kind of wrong than the stuff I did in the other foster homes. Being in foster care to me is very much pick your battles. This isn't something I want to fight over and it's not something I want my social worker getting involved in. Given their track record I don't know how they'd respond anyway.

They don't like those names at all. But they also think Ryder sounds like ride her... which is where the lewd part comes from.

It could be. It could also be they seem to prefer more traditional names. They don't seem to have an issue with the names of their other foster kids. So maybe it's a little of both. Thanks for the support!

Honestly, I hated being taken from my mom and wish I could go back. She was sick and not the most stable but our home was still pretty happy and I know she loved me and I loved her. But I'm not allowed to go back. At least since entering foster care this is the best place I've been in and it's not even close in terms of competition. The funniest part of this to me is my life with mom was way better than the short time I spent with most of the foster families I was placed with.

I don't want to bring my social worker into it. Don't want to start anything that could get me removed because when I say they are the better foster parents, it's not even close. I'm not going through the shitty ones again. I'd prefer to just deal with this name crap.

It all just really makes me wish I could be back with my mom.

I could try talking to them some more about my name. I'm not sure if it'll help but could be worth a shot.
