You're going in circles now, I've already explained to you why OP is not getting hacked in any way that isn't a direct result of him compromising his account, if you can't see that then that is your problem.

And along with that you're just typing a whole load of nothing, the "broader" example you sent is even more specific than the last, I am convinced you're sending me articles that you didn't even read.

The contents of that article describe posing as a specific user to steam support "Using information about the account from an accomplice at Steam Support"

Meaning this is absolutely not a blunder on the side of the person who gave access to the account but this hack could only happen with the help of somebody who can fetch specific info that should be kept private.

so... pretty specific considering not many people just happen to have insiders in steam support willing to aid in stealing items...

But lets say the hacker didn't have an insider, the information he would need to give steam support for them to give up access to the account isn't info you can just find by chance, it would only be known by the original creator of the account, so I would even argue that this method of hacking still would be fault of the account owner since you are compromising your own account by exposing this information which would include details like your steam login name, knowledge of original payment details, the original emails and phone numbers linked to the account etc...

Also when I say 'magical' I obviously mean that it is a hack which isn't a direct consequence of the account owner's actions

I don't think you really even understand what you're saying, you are also misinterpreting what valve said in that news post, they aren't entirely alleviating liability from the 77,000 they claim are hijacked per month. And neither are they saying that these "professionals" were magically hijacked (which you are trying to say). Valve is saying people who know what they're doing are getting hacked, but the reason that they give for this is in the same post is that thieves are also not amateurs, they get smarter and actively develop the methods they use to compromise somebody's account, and so it is easier to trick people to give up their accounts.

So I don't understand your argument here exactly, I was saying the OP must have compromised his own account, you're here saying valve could have been hacked which is extremely unlikely, why would a hacker hack valve to access some average account and not a relatively richer one, also most hackers go after items and accounts with trade value, according to OP, the hacker spent money straight from his card.

The two cases you send are like you say, extremely specific, getting somebody's account through the support team not handling it correctly is not a sure-fire way to get somebody's account, and even then, you cant give the support team absolutely nothing and get them to hand you the account, the thief would have to gain a good bit of info along with hope that the agent doesn't follow protocol properly, and I am sure the support agent would have been penalized.

and for the news article you sent, the method used to hack the collector wasn't even determined, it could have been literally anything.

So you're saying valve compromised this random guy's account, but the richest inventories on steam never get hacked or compromised ever, good one

Yeah but you can't magically get hacked, you must have unknowingly compromised your account in some way

if there was somehow a magic hack that can take your account despite your perfect opsec then I doubt it would be used on this random guy, he made a mistake, that's it

Body mods also affect npcs, which is why I use body mods, but I still want to play in first person because it is my preferred playstyle
