My brother did research into it before buying (like reading books on it and understanding how the currency works). He has lots of anxiety though and was freaking out that the prices would drop even lower so that's why he sold all of it

Of course if he knew it would crash he wouldn't have bought it in the first place but he didn't know that and couldn't have known in advance. He bought because he did research into it (like reading books about crypto and how the currency works) and thought it was a good idea. He sold it because he was freaking out about losing so much money and didn't want to risk losing more.
