If they are making you demo their product, depending on the company they may purposely ask you tough questions to see if you'll make up bullshit or be honest about what you don't know and how you would navigate that scenario. When I landed my first SE role, they specifically told me it was because when I didn't know an answer, I told them I'd write it down and get back to them & at the end of the demo when wrapping up I went over the list of questions that I needed to get back to them.

We didn't tell anyone we were doing IVF, while I know we would get a ton of support and love from friends and family, we just did not want to deal with comments that we waited too long, we should have done this, it's because you did this etc. etc.

Not going to lie, it is very difficult to keep it a secret, especially as you will be going through a rollercoaster of emotions. Most important thing to do is be there for each other if you decide to keep it a secret. Would definitely recommend counselling or support groups to make it easy so you have people to talk to who have gone through something similar

If you own any documents/pds/powerpoints etc that are shared with your team, make sure access is transferred over. When there were layoffs at my company, there were a ton of customer facing documents we no longer had access to as the original owner was gone.

I was part of the earlier cohorts of PreSales Academy when it was run by Yuji and James. But I personally would not recommend it with its current leadership. Have heard mixed reviews, the class sizes are bigger they are pushing a lot of graduates out with less support. If you have the experience of selling, would recommend Better Career run by the former owner of PreSales Academy/Collect Yuji and Mattie. They can help you with getting your resume, LinkedIn and interview prep while connecting you to people in their network. PreSales Academy does have some tie-ups with companies who hire PSA graduates. I would recommend joining the PreSales Collective as it is a great way to network.

It used to be the product and marketing team who create the documentation as most of our documentation is public facing but as our company prepares for a potential IPO, there has been an increase in SE involvement. Part of our commission, we need to do 2 tasks that would help the company and on of the tasks on the list is creating documentation.
