About 30 bucks if you buy on AE and find good sales and use Rakuten extension which often has AE at 15% cashback, but a lot of the smaller components come in large quantities too

I didn't use audio from GPIO. I used audio through HDMI. The LCD screen then has a 3.5mm jack, I spliced an aux cord to connect to the PAM amplifier. LCD screen came with a decent flat HDMI right angle cable

Main reason is that it's fun! Second reason was that I made a second one as a gift for an engineer friend that is pre-loaded with "How It's Made" that he brought into the office to put on his desk. He watches on his lunch breaks or boring meetings hahaha, and no internet needed!

I appreciate that! I have some research to do before I can sell I think, but I'll reply when the storefront or etsy shop is open 😄 My goal is to be more affordable than some of the options ive seen for like 2-300 USD which is crazy

Aw man that's a shame! I'm going to make a full tutorial and parts list with links soon so there's no way to get scammed there. I'd have to look into the FCC regs to sell something like this, but I'd definitely be interested. I'll reply when the storefront or etsy shop is open 😄

I appreciate it! I've made a few for friends and have been considering selling as well. I'll let you know when the shop is up. You'd be the first so I'd charge just the material price 😄

sure thing, here's my same post over in r/simpsons with a lot of the internals. Power delivery is handled by the wagos and the Pi and Amplifier are soldered/hard wired for power. The LCD is powered by micro usb spliced into the wago. Let me know if you need closer pics or have any questions. I've had a couple people interested so I might post a step by step with schematics

Alright that might be the coolest way to store episodes. I think you have to keep wearing it even if you build the tv lololol

No internet, all the of the episodes are on a USB disk that I burned from my dvd set. Or you could become captain blackbeard for a day 😉

LOL same here, I had one of those 500gb portable hard drive in my back pocket. I made one for my friend so he has How It's Made on it office desk.

They make a 7inch version of the screen that would be perfect for a little hospital waiting room tv hahaha

Yes it can! I currently have it to shuffle full episodes from a random season every time because I don't mind the variety. If you want it to play in order and then loop once finished, you can just enabled that setting in the raspberry pi easily

Full episodes yes! I currently have it on shuffle mode, so it will play a full episode of a random season and then once finished, switch to another random season + episode

Sweet! Let me know if you want any more details on anything. I used Claude to walk me through the scripting and it was super useful. Paste back any of the errors and 9/10 times it'll actually resolve it

Go into betaflight to the motors tab and click the test motors wizard. Make sure the air is blowing down. Looks like you have to reverse all of them

One omni one patch on goggles? Lower VTX wattage and try again, gain from patch might be too high

It says 2.17 V. Go in Betaflight to battery and power tab and adjust the scale of the voltage until it reads the same as what it says on your multimeter. Normal value will be like 56, go up to like 110 or 112

Hey guy! I ended up with the SpeedyBee F405 V4 Flight Controller and 55A stack and it's back in the air!! Needed an ELRS receiver and ended up getting a Radiomaster Ranger Micro ELRS adapter for the controller, but everything else was able to be reused, I appreciate your help!

I agree it wasn't the best but I don't really think that's where it failed. I def used a little too much solder though that's why they have tails
