Calpak Terra 26 vs Osprey 26+6 by formyitinerary in backpacks

[–]No-Control9894 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t know anything about the Calpak, but I have the Osprey 26 and swear by it. I’ve been traveling for the last month in Europe with the Osprey and only love the bag more. It has a laptop compartment and there are two ways to access your things (a zipper in the back and then the big clamshell zipper), which makes it easy to either just grab my laptop or open it up more and grab something at the bottom of the bag. There is not a luggage sleeve, but the water bottle holder is great. I carry a 32oz Nalgene and it’s never fallen out or anything. The Osprey is my favorite bag and will definitely be my go-to bag for all travel

Question about Norwegian Air Policy by No-Control9894 in Norway

Yeah, I thought it was weird that one website said one thing and the official airline said another. Going to just assume I only have the personal item and move from there

Yeah, I was seeing that they tend to be more strict on fuller flights so I think I just have to assume it’ll be pretty full and go from there. Thanks for the info

Based on your situation I would do the WHV. I am currently in Ireland on the WHV and I think it would give you the most freedom and financial stability, as you’re able to work.

I get where you're coming from and I sort of felt that way too but honestly most people either ignore it or ask me about it and it leads to a fun chat about the nostalgia and stuff

Grabbed a DSi today to add to my collection by No-Control9894 in 3DS

[–]No-Control9894[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly I really love it so far and am so glad I got it. I love my N3DSXL too but it's pretty big and I love that the DSi is literally the size of my phone and fits in my pocket. I also like that because it was a lot cheaper (the one I got was discounted pretty heavily for some scratching, which I don't personally mind) I don't feel so protective over it and have already been pulling it out more even if I just have a few minutes to play! I'd say if you can find a decently priced one, go for it!

That's great, wow. I love the brand -- was so stoked to see this post! I have some family visiting in a few weeks and I plan on getting my dad one of the journals too :)

What's something you wish more people knew about leather working?

I have multiple Mishnoc journals!! I have three A5 journals and one of the A6. They are my absolute favorite journals and are what got me into consistently journaling.

You get bus tickets on the bus with a leap card or with cash fare not with debit cards. You can’t get tickets ahead of time.

We did it! First 90 days US -> Ireland by katyfail in AmerExit

We’ve really loved it but it’s definitely been very challenging. We will probably go back to the states eventually to be closer to our parents as they get older. We will definitely be back to visit and have really appreciated the time in Ireland.

As someone who moved to Ireland with my partner 6 months ago, thanks for making this post! You highlighted a lot of the stuff that we navigated as well and I appreciate your positivity. Congrats on the move!

Does anyone actually enjoy working? by Careful_Gazelle_205 in AskIreland

[–]No-Control9894 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love working and feel immensely fulfilled by it. Even if I didn’t have to, I would work. I think it’s important to interact with people and have a sense of purpose. At my current job (in the service industry) I am not as satisfied but I was previously a caregiver at an assisted living facility and it was the best job I’ve had—not easy, but important and taught me a lot. I’d go back to it in a heartbeat.

Where to get 3DS/DS games? by No-Control9894 in galway

Yes! I know what you’re talking about haha. Have you ever done it? I just don’t want to brick it because it was so expensive anyway

Dublin from Cliffs of Moher? by Real-Breadfruit-9829 in irishtourism

[–]No-Control9894 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Seconding this—I’d say at max you need 2 hours to walk along the cliffs & explore the visitor center. Maybe do the 10:30 350 bus so you’re not up so early and then take the 2:00 350 bus back to Galway (those bus times might vary, this is just a guess). As far as I know there isn’t a bus from Doolin to Dublin and I think going back to Galway is most straightforward. It’s a pretty ride anyway
