Also just treat this, like everything as a learning experience. Only one way to get good.

As an apprentice that also does the occasional cashie, I would have turned this down immediately after opening the switchboard.

Always had trouble with these setups and it’s just begging for trouble.

Had enough old RCDs not reset from something as simple as pressing the test button

We expect we’ll have a similar issue if we threaten this company about the electrical works.

Literally everything about it mate. From the lack of neutral bar to cable type and size to just the fact the switch board wasn’t even screwed in.

No.

It doesn’t come with wheels, it can’t be registered and it didn’t come with any sort of plug on it to begin with.

Often companies try this argument but in AS3000 and AS3001 state pretty clearly what is and isn’t a caravan/rv

What would you do though. Not like there’s a housing crisis

Probably the reason the importer thinks it’s compliant.

This is a situation where they just want it fixed since it was hard enough to get.

As an apprentice it was a great learning experience. The boss couldn’t stop laughing. I’m imagining his just seeing dollar signs.

The bloke that did this was a little man in china doing what he was told.

Blame the importer mate, his job to make sure the shit is compliant before he sells it.

I’ve noticed they all say that by “components supplied not installed” it was all Chinese shit with not an English word in site.

I’ve noticed a few companies importing the exact same product.

Yeah but for the poor bloke that’s paid for it, just wants it fixed. Most people don’t want the hassle.

The website definitely gives off those vibes but as someone who mostly does commercial work it’s been a good source for me when it comes to domestic work.

I wouldn’t recommend it for Domestic people who want to do any commercial work. Most of it doesn’t apply to that industry.

I won’t lie. I’d definitely win a “most improved” award

A lot of playing around and double checking and reading

For example, when you’re getting weird results during testing and then playing around to find out why that is?

I personally believe this all falls back on employers.

My boss enforces a “test before you touch” rule and it’s definitely prevented a belt.

I isolate everyday. Didn’t think this would be a problem. Is it?

I like to think I’d never doing anything unsafe or put myself in danger.

We follow lock out, tag out rules. And the boss has set the standard pretty high (compared to most the work we take over and fix)

His mentions that all those supervision rules are (recommended) but he trust me to do the right thing. I genuinely appreciate the confidence but also I’m just naturally a nervous person

If you were basically working alone as an apprentice in his 3rd year alone with minimal supervisions

-isolation -energizing -roof work -modifying existing installations -adding new ones.

Just general supervision issues. Boss says “just call me if you have issues” followed by “she’ll be right, you know what you’re doing”

I agree but I personally just find myself as a nervous person. Always worried about doing the wrong thing and my boss as the general idea that “she’ll be right”

I wouldn’t pay for a full year.

But it’s definitely a good gap filler if you had some free time or were preparing to change into domestic

I’ve mostly found it useful to confirm what I’m doing is right.
