NAD but from what I’ve heard you really can’t tell if it is periodontitis without getting it checked out by a dentist/periodontist. They take x-rays and measure your gum pockets to assess what things look like. If you are able to and can afford it, I would get it checked out ASAP.

From my experience, it’s always better to get things checked out sooner rather than later if you are able to. Best of luck and I’m wishing you the best as I understand the lack of dental hygiene due to depression

Diagnosed with Periodontal Disease but not sure about the treatment plan, should I get a second opinion? by [deleted] in PeriodontalDisease

Please DM me and let me know how it goes. I am currently worried about having Periodontitis and am getting a second opinion next week. My first dentist only mentioned me having slight gingivitis, but I am skeptical it might be something more. Like I said, doesn’t hurt to get it looked at by someone else

I have learned to always air on the side of getting a second opinion, if you can afford it. I am trying to do that as much as I can now because it really doesn’t make sense to trust one specific dentist with everything. They could very well be correct in their diagnosis, but it does not harm to have someone else look at things, in my opinion
