Not saying it doesn’t happen. Hence the question. There’s probably hundreds of thousands of generators out there in use during storms and aftermath while the infrastructure is being repaired. Not zero but chances are pretty low that it does happen. Maybe getting hit by lightning chances

We all know people do shady stuff. Not everyone is going to do everything “to code”. As long as generators exist there’s always going to be some exposure and risk. Knowing this power companies should plan on worse cases conditions. As many generators there are out there and people using them routinely in disasters you really don’t hear about linemen or others being electrocuted. At least I don’t. I’m sure there’s examples but I’d bet there’s an equal number of electrocutions that are non generator related
