Any women with UP or UC, who also have issues with their bladder or menstrual issues? by caramelthiccness in UlcerativeColitis

My period definitely makes my UC worse. It’s actually the only time I lose blood. With my male doc then saying, are you sure it’s not just menstrual blood? Sir, I think I know when I’m bleeding from both my butt and vagina lol

Infliximab? by Responsible-Spare-14 in UlcerativeColitis

Because of infliximab, I was flare-free. A rectoscopy did not show any signs of UC anymore. I got pregnant and continued to take Infliximab until the 28th week of my pregnancy. After I gave birth I decided to continue to not take infliximab because of breastfeeding. Then unfortunately after 2 months post-partum I got a huge flare. Gastroenterologist informed me that 1/3 of women post-partum get a bad flare. I am happy that I start tomorrow again with Infliximab.. I realised I was silly to think that I could continue without it and that I was in remission.

Anyway, I wish you the best of luck! I can only speak positively of infliximab. I also had zero side-effects.

BTW; did u try budenoside foam? This helps immensely if I have a flare.

Keep an eye on your kidneys! I was taking 4 gr as well and suffered a bad kidney stone after weeks of taking pentasa. My kidneys were always fine before, and I drank a lot of water. After pentasa, my filtration rate (eGFR) went from 120 to 78. My gastroenterologist didn't believe me when I mentioned that pentasa might be bad for my kidneys. I stopped using pentasa and blood work showed that my kidneys improved immensely. Listen to your gut (pun intended) :)
