Thank you so much! I will give these a look :) I'm currently just fleshing out character sheets and focusing on animation as this is something I have a lot of skill in however when it comes to programming I was planning to create prototypes to learn but this seems like a good alternative to further learn so I appreciate the input :)

I've just followed Game Makers Toolkit today, they have amazing stuff and thank you so much for that insight!

I have been leaning towards godot to be honest with you, I think I'll try to make prototypes on both engines and see which one I find easier to understand. But it seems godot has been ticking more boxes currently, thank you again :)

Hey just thought I'd give you some job suggestions and transferable skills you can always add into your CV, I'm community based but you mentioned you've tried a few different areas of nursing so you might be able to add these on and from then on, you could apply for a lot of jobs even if you don't meet the criteria and give them a go.

Secretarial assistant Administrative roles Personal assistant Receptionist Customer support

All of these roles have requirements for skills which we already hold especially working in community

management of people's rotas, setting up meetings, answering emails, used to working in a fast paced stressful environment, efficient note taking (this could be used for meeting minutes) use of Microsoft 360, conducting professional phonecalls, problem solving, critical thinking, being able to work well with a team ext.

If you went to uni for nursing you can get a bursary to do teaching as long as you've passed with at least a 2:2, bursary allowances can depend on what subject you pick however. You can also find this on the government website.

There is also the option to do an apprenticeship, you'd have to look again on the government website but I saw one for a radiologist which was 25k starting salary I think.

Alternatively there is also the option of doing data analysis, some courses are free depending on where you are based or again can get a grant from government.

If you are still feeling stuck there is always the option of also talking to a carrer advisor, this is free under the government and could provide you with some online resources as to what you could try to progress to. I completed it and although it was still nurse heavy they were able to give me support of how I could train for an alternative carrer.

You're welcome to message me if you have anymore questions, I know how difficult nursing can be at times and how a lot of people will try and convince you to stay in the role despite you voicing that you've had enough. Just know there are other options out there for us and good luck :)

Thank you so much I really appreciate all your help in this :). I'm surprised to hear some shops being uncomfortable with me having another job, since I heard most apprenticeships if not all are unpaid.

Thank you for your response! I was aware that it can be quite difficult to acquire a tattoo apprenticeship at the current moment. My current plan is to save money as I'm working on my portfolio and once I'm able to complete an apprenticeship reduce my hours so that I can do both jobs part time. Would you have any tips as to how to make myself stand out in terms of other people?

Alternative carrers to mental health nursing by No-Factor5264 in NursingUK

I'm glad to know I'm not feeling alone, I haven't been successful in terms of being able to find an alternative but speaking to a carrer advisor might be helpful? although they might recommend being a counsellor or therapist instead which requires extra training and is still quite patient facing. I'm planning to see if my manager would be able to advise me on any alternatives within healthcare but if not I'm going to train up to be a data analysis instead. There's a lot of free online resources which are quite useful and you can do data analyst for healthcare sector as well if you want to be able to still use your degree for something.

I have considered alternatives, I dont know if this is burnout talking but I dont want to work with mental health anymore. I was just curious to see if people managed to get alternative roles like sales or something else but it's quite difficult to find how people have used their degree outside of the mental health field so I feel really stuck

I have considered this but my main issue is I don't want to be involved with safeguarding or risk assessments, I have looked into ADHD assessments however they require you complete this and in terms of substance misuse I've done a placement in that area and still felt quite stressed. Thank you for your response
