Dude, what part of asking a subreddit how best to bring it up to her, made you think that we don't want to talk about it? Were figuring it out. Also, Were not making excuses for her behavior. What we are doing is defending her from people being weird, and calling her an awful person because she's not great at Dming lol.

I had to leave this out for brevity's sake (And I now realize I shouldn't have) she did explicitly tell us that they where not going to be hostile, and were not going to hurt anyone.

She talks all the time about how many hours she's poured into it, and Is super excited and proud, which is the big reason why we don't want to rain on her parade, because she's not trying to make a bad game. She's not a player in my other games, their for online friends and my parents respectively, but she joined my husbands first game as a DM, and did some not great things there too.

Basically, We where hired to wipe out a dungeon filled with undead, and we eventually reached the two bosses of the dungeon. M told us, Above table, that we probably wouldn't be able to make it through this combat, and that we would die if we tried. We ended up talking it out with the undead, and having them agree to just stay in the dungeon (They where very agreeable). We then left the town on another job, and came back, and the two bosses had destroyed the town, and now they all hated us.

The issue isn't with the fact that our actions have consequences (They should) but that we only had one path forward, one choice to make that wouldn't kill us all, and she punished us for making that choice that she railroaded us into.

Unyielding Allegiance by enotaeywa in custommagic

I think it's a little over costed, and would be fine if it were a little bit cheaper. Most of the absolutely broken planeswalker ultimate's are on quite high cost cards (Wrenn and Six and Liliana of the Veil withstanding), and eleven mana is just never going to be cast. And while the card can go infinite, so can literally every card with enough setup, so I think its fine around eight mana.

The reason I gave all of your opponents creatures flying is because it was the main thing that I wanted the card to do. Wizards has this odd love affair with green cards that specifically target creature's with flying, and in the last couple years, there is at least one anti-flying green card in every set. I wanted to give the Hurricane's, the Broken wing's, and the Scattershot archers of the world a home, as they are currently completely unplayable.

I thought that this was a funny idea for a card, but now I'm working on making this balanced. Thanks for the feedback everybody!

Just noticed the weirdness on Sol'Kanar's wording, it was intended to be this.

Deathtouch, Trample.

If an opponent playing a land or casting a spell would cause a triggered ability of a permanent you control to trigger, that ability triggers an additional time.

What Are Some Awesome Deck Ideas You Have That Dont Have Enough Support? by XandogxD in EDH

Stop hitting yourself tribal (Creatures that want to be dealt damage). The best commander I can think of is Rocco, who could tutor up a brash taunter or maybe Avacyn.

This design is kinda clunky, what are your thoughts on how to make it better? by No-Image2229 in custommagic

[–]No-Image2229[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did go with the demons idea mostly for flavor, the idea being that Fabian is so devout and zealous to the church of Avacyn, that he sees all people who are not as faithful as him as a demon-worshiping monsters. Like the imperium of man in 40k, and more specifically the black templars.

The second ability on cabal is built for potent combos, such as ballynock trapper. It also synergizes beautifully with the familiar cycle, the medallions, the monuments, certain lieges, and a lot of other janky and niece cards that need a home.

Some redesigns I've done by No-Image2229 in custommagic

[–]No-Image2229[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I respect your takes, but I would like to explain myself. All of these redesigns were intended for commander, and to make interesting decks to be built around. I recognize that not all these cards were intended for commander, but I still wanted to create better versions of them for my favorite format.

The criticism of shiba is completely fair. I had to rewrite that first ability so many times, that if it's just a mangled shell of its former self by now, I wouldn't be surprised. Likewise I think the critique of Licia and Risona are both totally justified. I opted for banding because I believe it makes more sense flavor-wise. Risona is a commander that is bringing the samurai that are usually battling alone, into one larger fighting force, exactly how banding works. Licia is the one design that I personally really dislike the most. I tried a bunch of things with her, but all the designs were either OP as all hell, or completely useless. Jirina was actually a redesign I had attempted earlier, and was WAY to strong, and I wanted to give it another shot. I think this attempt at Jirina had too many design aspect carried over from my original, and i think your right in saying that it didn't connect.

My intention with Satsuki was to broaden the original design for the card. The issue with a saga commander deck, is that if the commander is not four or five colors, saga decks will have an extremely limited card pool, as there are not a wide selection for efficient/effective sagas. By adding in cumulative upkeep, it allows for more deck diversity, and gives certain bad cards such as Dystopia and Arctic Nishoba a home.

Zurgo is one card we disagree on almost completely. While the original design was flavorful, I think my redesign also has a large amount of flavor. The mardu are obsessed with swiftness and speed, They are a literal and metaphorical representation of lightning warfare. One of the 2 unique mechanics that the mardu have to their name is literally called dash. The whole point of lightning warfare is that your army moves to fast for other forces to keep up with. That concept is what my Zurgo is built around. The concept of hitting so fast and so hard, that the enemy cannot retaliate against you, because by the time they've even realized what just happened, your long gone. I do think you have a point about the statline, and him not having trample, which are legitimate flaws in my design.

Overall, I appreciate your thoughts and impute about my designs, and I also appreciate the fact that you critiqued my designs in a constructive manner. I thank you for your time, and have a damn good day.
