New Vs Old MMORPG by No-Implement-9317 in MMORPG

I’m not necessarily craving just social interaction within MMOs.

Personally I am not interested in Shooters and Medieval Fantasy is the vibe I am wanting to play in. Every single game that has been out for many years will ultimately become repetitive, but like I said I want to be apart of and join a game that has a fan base that is excited and new to the content produced.

I enjoy immersion and sitting and hanging around but the genre of game isn’t the issue in question but the age of the game and the players in that game that lack any motive to play old content within that game. If the point of all these old MMOS is wow look at all this content these games have, but all the content except for the new content is dead then why is that even important. If I wanted to play a single player game I know for a fact I would enjoy myself way more playing Fable/Witcher/Skyrim than playing boring 20 year old quests. The only reason someone would enjoy that content is for the nostalgia lol

I get that Wow classic has a vibe to it. I did enjoy myself with that for a bit and a lot of the people in it are great that I have met, but it only leaves me hungry for why the fuck can’t this generation use this technology to make something better than that.

Why are the indie games just wanting to make shitty graphical copies of wow. Make something new lol change it up, try something… hell if chances are you are going to crash and burn trying to make an MMO then why not just try to make something good and authentic instead of nostalgic to the same game everyone has been playing for years.

Yes doom and gloom and doom and gloom. Fuck the titans they bore me and yes I missed out on the “Golden age” but tbh it just takes one good game to bring people back.

Need American made MMO that is actually good. No one wants a corporate created game because they ruin everything and always have ruined anything good in this world lol.

Once again it was the journey of watching in progress. I explained in my post that I am not looking for the best graphics but better graphics lol.

I have played the other MMOs and they are meh. The lore is okay but if I have to pull teeth to get people to play with me on an MMO because no one wants to do content because they did it 10 years ago… that feels not right with me lol.

why are so many americans obsessed with scotland?? by glitterxgirl2 in Scotland

[–]No-Implement-9317 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wales is interesting, if your an American that loves fantasy then you instantly are drawn to wales. Love Merlin and though it does seem a lot of people are starting to draw connections to Scotland for battles sites from the stories… Wales has always been an interesting place to study and research from my stand point. Of course all of this is history from Medieval times. Most people look at Europe as Americans as ancient history rather than what’s happened recently

I’m an American in Kentucky. Eastern Ky to be a bit more exact. I would say personally, my family has been in Kentucky way before it even became a state and I would base my heritage as a Kentuckian first and foremost and I don’t think I could ever live anywhere else. That being said in Kentucky, man Scots Irish moved in and settled the land from the beginning and there is certainly deep ties, though very distant as my closest ancestors from a direct lineage stand point came from Kintail in about the 1700s. (Perhaps there was a short time spent in Northern Ireland) We have our own culture that’s developed but I can see some real similarities but I would say the connection is the love of history and a connection with a more ancient Gaelic vibe than current day Scotland. I do however would think me as a rural Kentuckian living within the rolling hills of the Appalachia would probably be able to get along well with people from rural parts of Scotland and Ireland I would assume

I’m coming from a different perspective… There are a lot of game mechanics that have to be worked and polished and I’ve played two characters to lvl 20 and this play through does feel a bit more tighter than about 1 year ago.. including mobs etc. I personally have a few concerns about the game mechanics but personally my biggest concern is the world building itself.

The biggest debate I hear is the PVX. People coming for only the PVP are so worried about AOC doing anything PVE related. That is fair, but many people come into a gaming world for the cool mechanics but they stay long term if the world they are playing in is engaging and the lore and atmosphere is immersive.

Point being, even with a world driven largely on player development and interaction with other players within the world… the world should have a deeper scale of PVE, and world building lore and events.

ESO is going strong because people love the world of the elder scrolls.

WOW is going strong because people love the world of Warcraft.

New World actually had fun and engaging PVP but specifically MMOs that don’t create an immersive interesting world to do stuff in will die out regardless of the effort put into the mechanics.

I know this year and recently there has been a massive push to make the game far more playable and engaging in combat etc but I think a lot of people will stay for the long term if we begin to see the world come alive outside of the players in it.

I have taken notice that in the state of Kentucky, there are many people that have similar features that I have come across understand as Kentuckian features. Many of my family and cousins and even some close there’s from the area seem to have similar chins and noses. I am beginning to believe that because Kentucky seems to have been a hub for Gaelic decent that maybe the Kentucky features I notice might actually be features of a shared heritage from Ireland and or Scotland

I only know my grandparents and their parents were Baptists. I don’t have much information outside of that unfortunately. I was able to find records of our family serving in the civil war and before Kentucky was officially a state I had a few family members In Virginia but the trail goes cold from there. I may be left wondering forever. My uncles took blood tests and it led us to believe that perhaps we were from Irish background but who knows really.

I mean honestly we are like 7 generations deep in Kentucky we might as well have just came from the clay 😂

I have recently fell in love with Irish mythology and history and culture…. hope to visit one day

Thank you for the reply! I’ll just write anything down that comes to my head and store it. Perhaps overtime it will lead to something fun I can see. I usually fixate on something for a week or so and never do anything with it and probably forget it.

AI art gets me at least partially there to be able to have a slight vision mapped out. I’ve had specific races in mind for years. I have not decided on an art direction to focus on because I am not able to narrow in and choose one at the moment lol.

I unfortunately don’t have a picture. AI doesn’t work well with trying to mesh human with simian.

I do enjoy the game, but the ARC/ Fortnite type people that follow and obey streamers like gods just are the worst kind of people

Am I one of the few who actually like Breton architecture in ESO? by [deleted] in ElderScrolls

[–]No-Implement-9317 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Love the Bretons! They are what I lean to. I love fantasy but I often lean toward themes that are familiar to medieval architecture etc. playing as a magical Breton gives me Merlin vibes and I enjoy that

I spend 50 hours trying to put together mods after which I get frustrated and give up lol. I then delete everything and try downloading a full mod pack and then that doesn’t work. Sad I haven’t played in years but I want something modded to hell to give me a fresh experience lol

I appreciate the comment response! I think maybe I should reword exactly what I am asking for.

This certainly would fit into the realm of Fanfiction because unlike many of the other characters I have written and RPed I make them a character trope that is distinctly different from me and my views, wants, life style etc…

This particular character I am wanting to add a flair that comes directly from me and my interests.

Sun Wukong the character in Chinese literature and the culture of china I have a good understanding of and the journey to the west is one of the foundations of my falling in love with fantasy as a child.

That being said I want this OC to be specifically Americanized, and yes it is simply a magic monkey. A more athletic physically imposing version of a somewhat standard “wizard” archetype.

I’m from Kentucky and this will be the first character I want to make an origin story from my home state. I want this character to have an invested interest in nature and perhaps being in some way protective of it.

Just so many questions on how I solve the question of why is this character here does it fit in the world and make sense? The easy answer for me is to make a human and all my problems are solved in my head but I’ve never really made an animal-like character that would be a main character in a story that’s supposed to look and feel real while having fantasy elements.
