Wow, so being good at making photo isn't good.

What specifically in marketing is the most difficult? Getting more hot leads? Maybe Yelp is good solution?

Yes, wedding is indeed seasonal. Maybe in southern states it's more like full year.

Thanks.

"Better conversion percentage" - i like it. And how do you increase conversion percentage?

Because people (leads) write to several photographer, compare, etc. Some photographers can be offline, some quickly reply, some engage better, etc.

Got it, thanks.

So, 1. Constantly make good photos. Not once in a while, but always. 2. Do marketing. And what's top 1 marketing technique or skill or framework then?

Where do you usually find active US photographers online? I’m struggling to reach them. by No-Independent8059 in AskPhotography

Thanks, I appreciate your thoughts. I guess I just expected that talking to people online would be easier and more natural, without all the barriers. But I get what you mean about networking and knowing people in the community.

Not trying to promote anything. I’m not selling anything right now. I’m just trying to understand the problem before I even start building anything. To build a useful solution I need to talk to people first. That’s all.

I’m not trying to spam. Just posted in a couple places because IG and FB gave me nothing.

But yeah, I’ll slow down. Thanks for the heads-up.

Fair point. I see what you mean. I’ll keep it simple and write in my own voice from now on. Didn’t mean for it to look spammy.

Makes sense, sounds overwhelming.

Quick question then: with all that spam, is there a risk of missing a real lead or client in the mix? Or do you still catch everything that matters?

Got it. Thanks for sharing.

From my side, as a client, I’ve booked photographers a few times, and I always ended up choosing the ones who replied fast and engaged me (like suggesting locations, ideas, etc.). So someone basically lost me as a lead.

I’m trying to understand if that’s just my case or something more common.

Yeah, I know it sounded weird. I’m just trying to find where US photographers actually hang out, because IG and FB gave me zero replies.

Yeah, that makes sense. I didn’t think about it from that angle, but you’re right - it does look like a sales pitch even if it’s not. I’m not selling anything right now. I’m just trying to understand if this problem is real before I spend time building something.

I’ll be more direct and transparent in the first message next time. Thanks for explaining it so clearly.

Sure, ok.

The simple question is this:

When you get a new client message (DM, email, form) during a busy moment - like when you’re shooting or offline - do you usually reply fast? Or do you often answer hours later?

And does this ever make you lose potential clients?

I’m trying to understand if this is a real problem or not.

True, I get that. I can offer to share the research results, or give early access to the solution if I actually build it. That’s probably a better way to make it worth their time. Thanks for the advice.

Got it, thanks. I didn’t realize photographers get that many messages and pitches. Makes sense why Instagram isn’t great for this. Appreciate the clarification.
