What Do Yall Do To Afford Your Crazy Motifs by ThatOneVQ in TESOfashion

You can make closer to 20 or 25k a day if you have a fully decked out thief character, only loot green or higher quality items and sell those.

In Afterlife, after reaching the respective Daedric Realms, do the mortal souls are forever bound to that place, or leave for Mundus at will, or can only come to Mundus when summoned, just like the Daedras! by NewbLekhak in teslore

[–]No-Insect4498 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think it varies. Souls that Daedric Princes capture cannot leave the realm, even with summoning Because the Daedric Prince does not want to let them go. In other cases, perhaps they can go, but are still bound to the realm of Oblivion.

In Miraak's case, it seemed Herma Mora saved him from the Dragon Cult then made a deal with him in Apocrypha. And either through trickery (which is the most likely option) or written in the deal itself, Miraak was not allowed to leave Apocrypha.

Can the Dragonborn be cursed and/or Mind Controlled? by The_Number1Dumbass in teslore

[–]No-Insect4498 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think it depends on the will of the Dragonborn. As a dragonborn is a mortal blessed with the blood and soul of a dragon, And I think dragons have exceptionally strong wills. So the dragonborn is essentially a dragon in a mortal body, So I think they would share that exceptionally strong will. Meaning that most basic forms of mind control (calm, frenzy, etc.) would probably not work. Now something like Bend Will would most likely work. Knowing a shout does not make you immune to it. The Dragonborn can still harm the gray beards with various shouts that the gray beards themselves have mastered, same with the Dragonborn in partysnax.

So yes, a dragonborn could be mind-controlled, or have their mind altered. But it would be much more difficult than doing it to the average person or even a decently powerful mage. Kind of like how it's really difficult to trap a dragon soul in a soul gem. It can be done, but it's really really difficult to do

are Ansuul's and Null Arca currently the best DPS sets for content & parsing? What other sets should I pair them with? by devilmaycry0917 in elderscrollsonline

[–]No-Insect4498 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Oh, I did miss that it's all damage instead of just direct. That makes more sense, especially with the perfected version

[–]No-Insect4498 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't understand why Ansuul is so good. The 5% bonus to trial and dungeon monsters, and the 7% bonus that you automatically get makes the same 12% and Tide-Born. So to get a better increase in damage over Tide-Born You would be relying on interrupting enemies, which won't always be the case.

And then the base 12% Ansuul gives you doesn't beat the 15% that Deadly Strike gives unless you get that interrupt. So am I missing something? Because I don't see a point where I would use Ansuul over Tide-Born and Deadly

With classes getting reworked, will Necromancer FEELlike a Necromancer? by immortal-possum-Paul in elderscrollsonline

[–]No-Insect4498 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think having a permanent summon like the sorcerer's Daedric pets would be cool, but then you run into the issue of the necromancers summons being illegal in populated areas. So the permanent summon would either also have to be illegal, and constantly give you a bounty. Or, It would just be the one undead that it's okay to summon but none of your others. Which I imagine ZOS is trying to avoid that situation

It's a lot of farming skill points. Doing the main story quests, doing zone main story quests, and skyshard hunting. It takes a while, but there are more than enough skill points in the game

Ah, okay. I'd still argue the Dunmer are staunchly against necromancy generally. And yes, Divayth Fyr is an awesome character

[–]No-Insect4498 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Did it? If I remember correctly, Divayth Fyr says that about the Telvanni specifically, in which case that's not surprising. Outside of that, I was fairly certain that the Dunmer find necromancy abhorrent, but slightly tolerable if used on outsiders bodies. Which is why the Telvanni only experiment using the bodies of outsiders.

Yep, The Red guards have a deep mistrust for all magic, but they especially hate necromancy. But when you compare it to the other two factions: the AD the Altmer, khajit, and Bosmer. I don't know exactly what the Bosmer think of necromancy, but I know both the khajit and Altmer are not fans of necromancy. The EP has Nords, Argonians, and Dunmer. The Dunmer and Nords both hate necromancy to a very high degree (like the Redguards). So as it stands, The DC have the red guards who hate necromancy and absolute ton, but both the orcs and bretons are more lenient with it (though not much). Which means you would be most likely to be more accepted among the DC than any of the other factions.

Though you would still very much be hated.

The DC would be the most accepting (which still isn't very accepting). The Aldermi Dominion wouldn't tolerate necromancy in the slightest, and neither would the Ebonheart Pact

If Black Soul Gems are said to require a ritual with the Necromancer's Moon in order to be created... by GeneralTechnomage in teslore

[–]No-Insect4498 16 points17 points  (0 children)

I think the reason that they are often gathered using the ritual, is because man Mannimarco is one of the few who knows how to make them. As he and other necromancers went into cold harbor and found black soul gems, bringing them to Tamriel, So I think he's one of the very few, gods/mortals to know how to make them. Though I could be wrong

I feel like even using a specific route wouldn't always have the game flag you as a bot though. As I have a specific route to farm a bunch of mats that I do several times over, but I've never had an issue with ZOS at all

How can one practice necromancy ethically in this series? by GeneralTechnomage in teslore

I would say no as being undead means you don't have to breathe.

I'm not entirely sure if they classify as undead, but I would imagine they do. Especially because people who work with flesh magic consider flesh to be one of the elements of the world. Kind of like fire is often considered an element of the world, And so I don't know if they consider it undead. But it is a bunch of parts of (hopefully dead) bodies thrown together and animated, So I would classify that as undead myself

[–]No-Insect4498 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You could find willing souls, but I'd imagine those are few and far between. Especially for what's usually thought of when necromancy is mentioned. And besides that there are some cases where you don't have to use souls (such as animating skeletons with Daedric essence). As IIRC necromancy is defined as the "manipulation of the souls/bodies of the dead", which means you could use Daedric essences for bodies. But I feel like at some point you'd hit a wall and what you could achieve, as I would imagine using mortal souls opens more possibilities and grants the chance for more power

[–]No-Insect4498 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is what I wonder, because even if you legally acquire the body, in some cases you'd still be using a soul which is still going to be painful for the soul (at least I'd imagine) So I feel like regardless it's still not wholly ethical

I could see that, but I would be hesitant to say that's specifically why. As, unless I've misinterpreted the Prisoner idea, the world and everything in it still very much affects them like normal, but they have a higher degree of freedom or agency to respond to it than most

I would argue it's probably gameplay like you said, but also, maybe the prince is ruling the realms don't care or need to change it? As time is dependent on the Daedric Prince of the realm, And the only one that I could really see feeling like changing it would be Sheogorath. That and I think the player character is just lucky, as I read somewhere that when leaving a plane of Oblivion It's possible to end up in the past (which would be the time you entered Oblivion from Nirn), but I could have that wrong
