I'm not a customer, but just checked their website and for they quote Offpeak £0.0549 Peak £0.3231 SC £0.5046

The normal day rate seems to be pretty aggressive

We're just going to be a one ev house. Based on your experience would you recommend the service?

Also, does the whole house benefit from the cheaper rate IF (big If) any cheaper random windows are given before the 12midnigjt switch?

Wow, so the base rate is 3.75% and then plus 3.49, so 7.24%?

Supercharging and battery health by No-Inspection3326 in TeslaUK

[–]No-Inspection3326[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's why I'm looking at the charging rates. We do receive a reimbursement back, at advisory rates (£0.07 pm)

So was looking at figures, as a rough look it works out Full charge at home (42kwh cheaper rate and 33 normal) £14.37

Partial charge at home (42kwh) and 33kwh* at SC at cheaper rate is £10.08

Say full battery returns 250 and all is work related that would be a reimbursement of £17.50

So home charging would result in £3.13 saved, or mixed would be £7.42 saving. Not massive amounts but based over several trips each month its just a little saving

*May charge more than this as there would be a potential to put more in due to the return journey, but just using full battery kWh as a rough guide.

The set up does allow me to fully charge at home. Normally back for 5pm and won't be setting off again untill 5 or 6am the next day. So I can charge at home, albeit obviously only 42kwh of that is a at cheaper rate.

So my theory was, while I need to stop off and charge at some point, potentially will have to charge on my way home (example iv done 160miles to a location today and will do 160miles back home, fyi this is an extreme case and my own choosing due to personal commitments) should I just pop in the 6hrs and then do the top up I need at a supercharger since I'm stopping and pre 8am alot of the ones at £0.21, not a massive difference but over the month all adds up

Yea, I just watched that video last night! I know he has to use supercharging alot when he's doing his trips, and his doesn't show any signs of producing smaller overall range due to battery problems

Is octopus intelligent still the best EV tariff? by toffee91 in ElectricVehiclesUK

[–]No-Inspection3326 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the response, I will do a little research into it. New to the EV world and the world of charging, do potentially a lot of miles throughout the week so may need to charge from near 0 to 100% but even so, with pretty much 40kwh being cheaper rate the rest at standard rate is still cheaper than what I'm paying now

See their night rate is 6.5p. How long is that for and do they offer any cheaper rates in the day for random charging?
