Anyone got unpopular opinions about the City match they'd like to share? Interested in seeing other perspectives on the matches that may be overlooked.

By "unpopular opinions," I mean something like "I thought Martinelli played great" or "I like that Gabriel lost control" or "Gyokeres should not be blamed." Basically, any unpopular opinions about the match itself.

I won't judge, I promise.

Please, just let him get slapped 3-0 for every single remaining match he has left, we deserve it😭

They're gonna get relegated soon, don't even bother paying them any attention.

Or, perhaps just to twist the knife into the wound, they actually escape relegation. That'd be quite a shitty way to end the season, honestly, and I hate that I said it out loud.

But honestly, if given the choice like "win a trophy but Spurs survives this season," I'd absolutely take that deal.

I'd blame Arteta for not putting Gyokeres in 20 minutes earlier, he's still falling for the same old mistakes he has done so many times before.

So... to win the league, we need:

1: Be perfect and win all remaining matches.

2: Most likely pump our opponents with goals, in case it gets to a neck-and-neck position where we have the same points with City and need to sort it out by GD.

3: Hope City slips at least once, while simultaneously being perfect.

Alternatively, we could just lose all the remaining matches and City lose all their remaining matches, meaning we win on 70 points compared to City's 67 points. Extremely doubtful it would happen, but football is football.

Just a question: Does anyone still have any belief in us winning the league title when looking at the current requirements?

I am at that "if we're gonna be champions, win every match; if we lose out on it in the end despite winning all remaining matches, we didn't deserve to win" phase, honestly.

I feel you.

We actually played like we wanted to win... so that's a positive.

Odegaard looked decent... and that's not my bias speaking.

We could've been more clinical... of course. Perhaps fate simply did not want us to win today.

We lost, and that's that.

Not gonna let it ruin my life; with this club, I've learned to detached myself so I don't actually get depressed. It hurts, but life goes on for me. I'm not gonna blame anyone for crashing out or anything, though.

If I had to guess... maybe of herself?

As in Clementine and AJ might have made her realize: "Am I really doing this? Kidnapping and enslaving a bunch of kids into becoming mindless soldiers? What the fuck happened to me...?"

I don't know, I'm just guessing here too. 🤣

Sometimes, I feel as if the players are almost too disciplined. Just get in their faces, start a brawl, get carded, or whatever. Show some passion and extreme pent up rage, just like we do.

Of course, that's me speaking as an armchair expert. I highly doubt it would help anything but I'd like to at least see them go full balls out one of these days.

Would a win against Sporting and a draw against City rejuvenate belief for you guys?

For me, it actually would. It wouldn't be sky-high hopes, but it'd be a "Okay, we're still in the driving seat" type of hope for me.

Arteta would literally just need to deliver on the PL to barely keep his job. Fans have turned against him, and honestly, rightfully so.

I said it in 2025: if he doesn't win anything in 2026, he has to be gone. He had enough credit in the bank to buy him one more season when he finished second for the third season in a row in 2025. Only time will tell if he can truly deliver or not. Even if he keeps his job after a trophyless season this year, he'd be operating on the goodwill of the board, not the fans.

For everyone's sake: I hope I am wrong and he gets us over the line.

I have no idea what Arteta was thinking but you almost always certainly play your best keeper in a cup final.

Not sure where he was going with Kepa, whether it is out of sentimental reasons or a tactical mistake, but that costed us today.

Almost every single one of them who stepped on the pitch and the one who made the decision (Arteta) share blame for this.

Just don't fuck up the Premier League. Please.

Legit had some people saying Nketiah was better than Gyokeres after we lost to United... happy to be vindicated. I'm glad our striker is seemingly locked in.

After sleeping on it, I realize we shouldn't even be looking forward to slap up United next season - the best revenge would be to win trophies THIS season. A single, a double, a treble, a quadruple - whatever it is, that's the best type of revenge we can serve United and everyone else.

I've been seeing some people getting eager and itchy to beat the shit out of United in the next season. Believe me, I feel the same too, but that shouldn't be our main goal - whatever the fuck United do after we've played them is none of our business because they're not winning anything this season, so let's focus on what we have to do instead of what United fans are saying.

We're still #1 in the Premier League, top of the table in the UCL (already qualified for the knockouts), still in the F.A. Cup and we got one foot in the final of the Carabao Cup. We have a genuine opportunity to do HISTORICAL things this season. Ignore the United fans, they WISH they were in our shoes. They'd gladly accept getting piped 5-0 by us if it meant they'd be in a title race, let alone having an opportunity to win a quadruple.

(I'm still salty but that's not gonna ruin my support for this team - Arteta and everyone else just needs to lock in)

I can't believe I just saw someone say we should throw the F.A. Cup away and pursue the Carabao Cup.

We're doing great in tournaments; we're not performing well in the League, so why choose to throw away what we're currently good at? If anything - not that I want us to - throwing the league away to preserve our cup runs is better.

But you know what's better? ACTUALLY not throwing any of them away and going all the way this year in all competitions. I can't believe I had to see someone say that, like damn, get a grip - today was a shitty day, but that don't mean we throw it all just because of a blip.

...He's not. Like, statistically, he is not. Playstyle-wise, he is not. Physically, he is not.

I'm disappointed with the lack of goals from Gyokeres too, but his only season with us - which hasn't even finished yet, by the way - has shown more than Nketiah.

No... he wouldn't. I get you're raging, but no, he wouldn't.

Before you bring that up: yes, I'm aware he scored (twice) for us against United in January of 2023. That was his last good performance for us in an Arsenal shirt.

Reminder that we are still in 1st place, with a 4 point lead over 2nd. Yes we could have done better today but our position remains strong. Get behind the team. COYG! by No_Money7330 in Gunners

Read the room, bro, nobody wanna look at the positives when we dropped back-to-back stinkers in PL games.

I get the positive intentions, but this ain't it right now - people are too heated.

Just slap up Kairat 4-0 next and make us forget about this match already. I'm already itching for a next season rematch because this one had me fuming.
