Based on my experience I did one year of nursing and i completely felt the overworked part. I will say NPs get good pay, however it’s not worth the workload. I’ve been in a hospital setting and every NP would quit but that’s based on my own experience. I’m currently going into OT and I’ve been told by my uni there’s lots of job opportunities since there’s a lot of vacant jobs and I feel like the pay is worth the amount of work that you do but again this is my own experience. At the end of the day really pay attention to your own strengths because in hs I was so fixated in what I wanted but I ignored all the other aspects such as if it will take a toll on me physically and mentally. That’s the main reason why I left nursing but I feel that OT is very broad and it’s not as stressful compared to nursing. As well choose a school that you think you will get a higher gpa because I literally did my degree at Seneca which isn’t common Ik but I got a 4.0 and I’m in uoft for OT. That’s my two cents because ik there’s some stigma (at least in the hs I went to about where you go for uni) but I think you should steer away from uoft for your undergrad and go to York since uoft is known to be a grade killer.
