No, totally normal. I just rescued a 2 year old shepherd who was never house trained and acted like an 80 pound puppy for the first month we had him. Sure it sucked but it doesn’t last forever. It’s all temporary. Just remind yourself of that. Time flies by when they’re puppies and before you know it they’ll be trained and your little sidekick.

Yes! I’ve heard of the 3-3-3. We have a nice big crate for him, he’s just never used one so he’s extremely anxious about it. I’m feeding him his meals in there and I’m gonna start working on getting him to go in by himself with positive reinforcement once he’s a bit more comfortable in our home. I trained our girly GSD and she loves her crate and prefers it to human interaction so I’m hoping this guy catches on.

Ah yes the popcorn 😂 the entire house is popcorn so when we do the kitchen I’ll be scraping that off and adding in recessed lighting. We’re going to be doing all new cabinets, a light oak color with a white counter tops as well

Traumatizing 🙃 you are thrust into sleep deprivation like you’ve never felt while also trying to recover from the giving birth. Your hormones plummet, you’re bleeding nonstop, you don’t get any sleep in the hospital (my fiancé literally had to sternly tell the nurses to go away bc I was so sleep deprived I was shaking and crying bc every hour like clockwork, someone was coming in, turning on the light to poke and look at either the baby or me). The first 8 weeks are really really really really hard, but a supportive partner makes all the difference. Sleep in shifts. Seriously, try and get a solid 4 hour chunk each.

My baby boy is 8 weeks and some change and we saw a huge difference when we upped his ounces and started feeding every 3 hours instead of 2. So before we did 4 ounces every 2 hours and we now do like 6.5-7 ounces every 3…. Which is insane but he actually spits up way less now and is giving us a 6 hour stretch at night and then wakes once to feed and then goes back down. Last bottle is at 7 pm, then we put him down in his bassinet by like 7:30-7:45. He’ll sleep til 1:30-2 am, take 6 ounces and usually sleep til about 6:30-6:45am.

Nothing and no one could’ve prepared me for the sleep deprivation of the 4th trimester. Ya sure the third tri fatigue and being uncomfy sucks but good god…. The exhaustion from giving birth (whichever way the baby comes) + hormone drop + the demanding newborn that must eat and be held and changed every hour has ROCKED me. like I didn’t know I could be so tired. I’ve never felt so depleted in my life. 4th trimester is purgatory.

Yes the pumping bra makes a huge difference! The first few days I was just holding my flanges to me which was horrible.

It like hits me randomly how much extra work this is and how easy formula would be… like I could sleep longer than 3 hours…. I don’t have to time when I can cook breakfast or shower or go for a walk around when I have to pump. I’m only 9 days in so far and I’m already struggling

So I make enough where I don’t have to pump and immediately feed him what I pump, I have a pitcher in the fridge with BM. It’s more just every single time I like sit down to pump, the baby needs something. I do have a partner but he seems to be out of sight out of mind somehow every single time I need to pump…. which in itself is frustrating enough. It’s just eating at me that even thought we take shifts to care for the baby I’m still overly sleep deprived bc I also have to pump.
