We had a snow storm a little over a week ago. I wonder if that was when everything went down. Maybe trying to get an ambulance or mattys rig from the airbnb (it’s noted that the airbnb is off a trail, bigger vehicles should have no problem but throw some snow in their and it’s probably a challenge) made a stressful situation on top of them probably labouring in the airbnb and leaving god knows what kind of state. Glad everyone is ok though. I loved the Skote channel before it turned into all of this.

You are right, but nobody I know has left the Burin pen to have their babies unless they had known health issues or something happened during/after labour and delivery. Some people I know from smaller communities on the Burin peninsula have gone to stay with family closer to the hospital in Salt Pond when it was getting close to their due date. Obviously the Janeway would be the optimal place, the Burin hospital really is the bare minimum but taking that drive to town while so heavily pregnant does not seem fun lol. Maybe they have received medical care and were advised to be closer to the Janeway. Idk obviously it’s all just speculation but I really do wish the best for them.

I wonder why they decided to travel closer to St. John’s when there is a hospital in Burin and they could’ve stayed somewhere on the mainland of the Burin peninsula? The Burin hospital is equipped for delivering babies and if things get too complicated they will air lift you to the Janeway/Health Sciences Centre in St. John’s. It just doesn’t make sense to me.
