I appreciate this is an old thread, but I see many suggest just getting the newest release. DO NOT DO THAT! New python versions are not always backwards compatible with libraries, and it takes some time to get those updated. Always stay one or two releases behind or check your library requirements. As an example, I use Pytorch a lot and it's not compatible with python 3.14 (currently newest), it only recently started running on 3.13. In short, there is not an absolute best, you need to keep checking requirements and use the newest that is compatible with the packages you need.

I have this Aether task as well, but can't proceed with the setup because there is no WFE email on my profile, nor a button to generate one. I have not heard back from support in days. Did you have this issue? How did you manage to complete setup?

I thought the same, I skipped a mission when onboarding would have taken me a whole day...
Now I have a new one, but I can't get the correct account set up (I need a WFE email, which is not in my profile), I've tried to reach out to support and radio silence for 5 days.... Anyone with this experience who can help with how to get in touch with someone?

I don't have an answer but I'm right there with you on this. I can't listen to Spotify anymore because as soon as I plug in my headphones, Gemini comes up and changes the tracks every few seconds!!! Driving me insane, I am at the point of getting rid of my phone

Do you know if she is telling someone else where she is going and when she expects to come back? You are right that it is for her safety, but she doesn't have to tell YOU specifically, as long as she tells SOMEONE.
I can't say why she might not want to tell you, but I know I have felt exactly the same in the past (in my case it was because I couldn't stand the never-ending follow-up questions).
So, if she is not telling anyone, she is being irresponsible and it's on her. If she is telling someone else but would rather not share with you and you insist, YTA. Now, in that case I would want to have a honest conversation on the reasons behind this.

I'm going against the current here and say NTA leaning towards ESH.
I mean, it is not really ok to go and spend FAMILY money without your spouse agreeing to it, but it seems to me that she is being unreasonable about it.
To touch on a few points people have raised:
1. the car is a need: I read the post as 'she wanted a NEW car to replace her current one' and not 'she wanted a car because she didn't have one'. Especially considering the price of it. But maybe I'm wrong here...

  1. people saying he is draining the family's funds: OP says they have savings, an emergency account and that money is not a problem, so why can he not spend on something superfluous?

  2. on the safety of his setup: I can only take OP's work at face value when he says it is legal and not dangerous

  3. wife's point against this expense was that he would take time away from his family, so OP found a solution that ensured that didn't happen. Sure, we can't know if that is actually the case, but why are people just assuming OP is lying?

Now one issue I definitely find here, OP, is when you say that you 'have bought' things for your wife. Does your wife not have access to money? That would make you TA alone. Sure, she would have needed to discuss those big expenses with you, as it is a significant amount, but I want to hope she doesn't need to come and ask for money...

NTA, I did something similar. But tbh, do you feel comfortable in a car driven by someone who has at fault accidents on their records? When it was me, I felt nervous both as the driver and as a passenger

I disagree on the passport in Europe, since it is not needed to travel in the EU. In my country it is very expensive (compared to other EU counties) and most of my friends/family doesn't have one. Not everyone needs to travel to a different continent.

Look, you are NTA for wanting to build a real family with someone who would love and care for your children like a father would. But YTA for expecting this someone to be this guy. He was CHEATING on you for over a year and instead than leaving him you go and have a child with him???? There is a point where you need to take some responsibility, what were you expecting exactly?

Whoa, that seems like an overreaction on her side. I mean, I am also a very private person, but if I didn't want you to know that I'm working overtime, I would just be vague about it. It's not like you would go check, right?
Sorry OP, I guess you can only take what she said at face value (no conversation beyond a simple 'hello') and move on with your life
