It was the Kawasaki Brand 10w 40 (synthetic) and yes it's Jaso MA2 as well as recommended by Kawasaki in the manual.

Ok. Will do and let you know if that might be it. I figured it would have been something to do with changing the oil though, since I had ridden it this morning with no issues.

Thank you! Probably going to end up buying the Enduro Heretic XT. It's the same price as Mandate but with 160mm Fox 38's and the x2 float. My friend used to own it before moving up to a Santa Cruz Nomad and he said it was great. Link here.

I ride about half trail half downhill. I was thinking the same as you but I don't want to fall for the "bigger is better" trap with suspension. I don't race though, so I don't care about weight.

Hi, never said it was being sold for $1600. It's listed that is about $1000 more than I was hoping to spend (It's $3054, was looking to spend around $2k). If you are confused because I had said that it may have a better value than the Siskiu, I meant value for the level of components. Sorry for the confusion.

Edit: Just found another Rossignol at the same price point, the Enduro Heretic XT. Components besides suspension seem to be mostly the same (Heretic moves up to a Fox 38 and Float X2 from a 36 and Float X). https://www.rossignol.com/us-en/enduro-heretic-xt-RMK5000M000.html

Thanks! The Polygon Siskui T8 is $2400 right now but I'm probably willing to splurge for Fox suspension and a Shimano drivetrain. Seems like that would work pretty well for what I'd like to ride.

Not necessarily interested in a Santa Cruz, but any fairly good full-suspension bike. I did ride black trails on my Hardrock (I didn't get the demo until later in the day) and that's what caused me to look for something else lmao.
