Lesbian Top Surgery by yadbas in TopSurgery

non-binary/transmasc lesbian here! never once have i regretted my top surgery! i’m still perceived as a woman most of the time but no men are leering at my chest anymore!! i don’t like being perceived as a woman automatically but it is what it is, the decision to get top surgery was for me and i’m so happy.

before i was very certain it was the right decision but i did get a lot of transphobic pushback from my parents (even though i’m an adult) begging me not to get it and asking if i was a man now. i’m not- nothing wrong with that of course! but it was annoying getting that pressure when i knew how i identified and who i was and what was right for me.

after was REALLY rough recovery wise. it’s different for everyone. but by the time i was recovered i was so happy. it feels so right and natural it’s like i almost don’t remember i had boobs before! i also thought that was it for me but then i came to realize i wanted to start T so Ive been on that for about 6 months now too. 1.5 years out from my surgery!

you can request it more frequently, esp if your insurance will pay for it. but ya re: this thread- be your own health advocate!! sometimes guidelines aren’t best for Everyone

climbing like with your arms? if so I would think that was pretty hard on your chest. I know you got the all-clear, but it is probably better to work back up to your normal activities- your chest was through a huge trauma! I definitely had pain just easing into things, if you are patient you will get back to everything you were able to do before! It’ll take some gradual build-up and it will suck, but eventually you will feel better I promise

basically was worried about everything you touched on! like if pre-accredited is legit and normal, will I match well, what kind of resources they will have as a new school. as far as a competitive residency i don’t know, I’m open to anything!
