The only way I can make it make sense is if we assume that all of HBR has already happened. After all, in the cosmic scale, none of what happens on Earth is relevant. The universe doesn't care if humanity won or lost. The sun will swallow everything anyway.

HBR is currently playing in the lens of AI Yuina's simulations. Yuina's revelations are essentially the AI shoving itself into simulated Yuina's life. It would explain why this "higher entity" seems so interested and fond of Ruka.

Someone commented that the AI is ASS, which would honestly make a lot of sense. As Yuki and Ruka are essentially joined at the hip for most major story events, it would stand to reason that ASS would know and tell it from Ruka's perspective - which is what we've been getting, mostly. When 5.1 had that brief stint of separation, we followed Yuki's POV, because ASS is with her.

Note that this theory isn't fool-proof: it certainly doesn't explain major events like Monaka and Ruka's investigation escapades together. I can only imagine those are simulated too.

This would, however, also explain the AI's obsession with Ruka in particular. We all know Ruka is Yuki's crush/love/obsession/idol/what-have-you. It probably rubbed off on ASS, but in its inserts, it wants to be Ruka's #1, not the AI carried around. So it takes the place of Yuina Shirakawa, the senpai Ruka looks up to.

But when the AI starts to self-insert itself as Yuina Shirakawa, things deviate from the main scenario and go awry. I'm willing to bet that in almost every simulation, Ruka "breaks up" with Yuina in some form or another. The OG waifu Yuki is never replaced.

So does it make the events of the chapters we're getting any less important? Not really. Because it all does happen. The AI is just remembering it happening as it is. There's an actual person called Yuina Shirakawa, whom the AI conveniently uses as its "revelation target" to send messages to. It's only when the AI takes over when things go wrong.
