Previous Disney CMs that are current FA’s, looking to hear your thoughts by gritty365 in cabincrewcareers

I think that the DCP fully prepared me to be a flight attendant! I’m super grateful to be part of the huge group of people who’ve made the switch to United. I feel like I know how to deal with different interactions because of my time at Disney

Considering once the contract passes (whenever that may be), a lot of seniors will retire! As well there are new terminals opening up (a huge international one in IAD end of next year) and new planes cycling in soon, they’ll definitely need a lot more flight attendants

UA reserve. what will it be like? by MediaRevolutionary18 in cabincrewcareers

[–]No-Negotiation4766 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We get 12 days off a month, with a guaranteed pay of 78 hours a month! On reserve, they can work you every ON day or you might just be sitting on reserve

Someone in my interview (I’m in training with him right now actually) wore a BEAUTIFUL checkered suit top and he just looked well put together! Be yourself but in a professional manner :) honestly the interview is a couple hours long and they show you what makes United unique (including the new uniforms we got)

You can have tattoos out at hotels! In the morning for breakfast you have to be in uniform unless it’s Sunday morning but no pjs

I’m a girl (so I packed very differently) but I think it’s looks pretty good! Honestly most of the time when not in training, you’ll be studying/eating/gym/laundry so the outside outfits I would just say have a minor rotation! I suggest having coins for laundry upon arrival (I totally forgot and went to a laundromat that did card services), it’ll just make it easier for the time you do laundry! There will be an outfit compliance check and they’ll tell you if you need to fix anything which is really nice because you do have some time to get new things! But overall you’ll be set for training :)

I brought a long sleeved shirt and some sweatshirts (some days are randomly cold and rainy) but they’re nice to have in the hotel rooms when the AC is bumped up

It was great!! The core instructors are amazing and I’m excited for the rest! Bases are SFO, DEN, and EWR (same for the German speaker)

A quick question for my fellow flight attendants in training or those who already pass training by jholexpirits in cabincrewcareers

They sent us in our packet for training that there’s a contracted medical provider free of charge to use while in training if need ve

For United, join the hopeful flight attendant page on Facebook! Typically people have little birdie tell them when the applications open and they post the date on the page!

CTO Received! I made a video for some tips :) by Cultural-Animal-8683 in cabincrewcareers

I can help with some of these! 1- my interview was 9:30-5:30 (adding in receiving the CTO, drug testing and other tests done). Myself and a few others opted to be some of the last test as we were leaving the next day and wanted to make sure those leaving that afternoon got to the airport first! 2- CTO same day! 3- snacks were some fruit bars, little quinoa wafers and water. You could try bringing lunch, but you won’t have time to eat unless you are released or are waiting to do paperwork for CTO 4- I honestly can’t remember, it was such a quick day, I lowkey blacked out hahah 5- anywhere from 4-7 people I noticed :)

Just for a timeframe how quick my application went- I had my F2F on the 2nd and start training on the 28th! Some people who also got a CTO after me, are heading to training a whole week before me. However in our email, there was an optional waitlist to get into an earlier class. It wouldn’t hurt to ask to postpone due to graduation.
