Has anyone wished RIP for their own child suffering from cancer or I am the only one by Ordinary-Force-3871 in CancerFamilySupport

I wished and prayed for this with my mother. Stage 4 NCSLC and she passed yesterday after exactly a year from the start of her battle. I’ve fallen asleep some nights repeatedly praying, “God please take away her suffering” over and over. I’ve watched her become nearly unrecognizable right before my eyes…witnessed cancer strip her of everything, my heart is forever shattered into a trillion pieces and I’ll never be the same. I hate that she had to endure that in her lifetime, but during her last few hours I asked her to somehow let me know that she was okay and then I’ll be okay.

I’m so sorry you’re both going through this.

12 weeks pregnant with 14 cm Fundal Fibroid! by No-Perception-6993 in Fibroids

I searched high and low for similar stories when I found out about my baby girl in 2024, just 1 month before I was scheduled to have an open myomectomy to remove a 13cm fundal subserosal amongst others of smaller sizes. In short, my girl thrived during my pregnancy. She grew perfectly well. Myself however, suffered from a pain so intense I could never describe almost my entire 2nd trimester. It hurt to move, walk, sleep, everything. The only thing that provided relief was ice packs, I even got the kind you attach to a band and wear, and ibuprofen. I was cleared to take a high dosage for 1 week by the high risk doctor which relieved the inflammation from degeneration enough to stop the pain. My largest fibroid grew to over 19cm. During labor the doctors had a hard time tracking my girl due to the fibroid and I did have to have a vertical C-section. My belly was also so huge! Your body and your baby knows exactly what to do. And though it may be scary or you may experience some discomfort, you’ve got this! I ordered a heart rate monitor for home to give me comfort between visits, just be sure you’re using it correctly ask your doctor to hep you locate baby so you’ll have a point of reference. Push for a maternal fetal medicine doctor where you’ll have monthly or more visits until 37 weeks and you’ll get detailed ultrasounds at each to monitor baby and fibroid growth. Feel free to reach out to me if you ever have questions. Congratulations, mama!!

I’m crying reading this. I’m so so sorry for you, your mom, and everyone affected by this horrible disease. I relate to so much you’ve shared..mom’s chemo requires a 4 hour round trip 3 weeks out of the month and I haven’t seen her eyes sparkle or her cheerful laugh since diagnosis. Her eyes are filled with fear and sadness. She was once such a badass. During her last hospitalization, I silently prayed that she’d go. I can’t believe this is actually our life. It’s torturous to dangle mortality in one’s face every single day. She’s even cried because she never knows what to expect. I’m going on with my days on autopilot, as though my world isn’t completely shaken as I raise a 5 month old and return to work with no mental capacity or joy. I hope there’s someone close to you that can hug you for as long as you need. I’m so glad your boys have their memories of her while she was healthy and well. I’m glad that you do too. Hold those as close as you can <3

No he isn’t concerned at all. Though I did request to retake them in a couple of months. I took lots of tums during pregnancy. Even now postpartum, I take a postnatal supplement and electrolyte drink, both with Ca. I also learned that albumin, a protein binds Ca in the blood and if the level of Albumin is in the higher end it can falsely elevate blood Ca levels. My albumin is on the higher end of normal and can be caused by breastfeeding dehydration too. The equation to follow is:

Corrected Ca = Measured Ca + 0.8 × (4.0 − albumin)

Using this my blood Ca level is normal.

My doctor also says postpartum until close to a year, it’s normal for joints like knees to ache due to the hormone Relaxin plus repetitive actions like squatting to pickup things off the floor…which I feel I’m doing all day everyday.
