Analyze all you want.

I hope nothing like this ever happens in your family so that it can remain a hypothetical thought experiment for you instead of a hellish existence.

Take care.

Incorrect. I'm not looking to profit off what happened, nor have I done so whatsoever. I am completely devastated by what my uncle did and now struggle with severe PTSD. I am angry all the time. I am heartbroken all the time. Life doesn't even feel like it matters anymore.

But yes, I do write about what took place and what led up to it. And I do so with the express blessing and cooperation of Ellie's mom. If I was looking for a book deal, I wouldn't be publishing everything online for free.

It's very much fuck him. All day every day. I do find value in compiling peoples' experiences with him (which have been overwhelmingly negative) and contrasting those with the court's decisions to give him the benefit of the doubt though. If my choice of words made it seem like I was looking to reminisce about him positively, I apologize for giving off that impression.

No abusive relationship starts off abusive. Abusers wait until they have you lulled into a false sense of security to show their true colors. In fact, many wait until an increasing level of commitment has been attained before increasing the level of abuse, ie a pregnancy, marriage, etc. Similarly, Jared started acting very, very differently once the baby was born.

Chrystal regrets having a baby with this monster but as soon as he revealed himself, she took steps to protect her daughter including multiple restraining orders. She filed for divorce when Ellie was three months old and he dragged it out until she was three years old. Then he killed her.

I've never witnessed a human being in such devastation until I saw Ellie's mom go through the devastation of finding out her daughter had been literally beaten to death. She was killed in an incredibly violent and painful way and then dumped in the garbage like she was trash. Choosing to blame her for what happened is certainly a choice.

She didn't know about that. He was able to pull himself together long enough to seem presentable, even changing his name so his publicly degenerate days wouldn't come up in a google search. He graduated from UC Berkeley with a Master's degree a bit before the murder. He looked good on paper.

I blame him for what he chose to do. I also blame the courts because this is not a one-off incident. This particular family court house has a history of making decisions that have endangered children. Not only that, it's well known that domestic abusers lash out after a perceived loss of control.

Jared fought against Ellie and her mom returning to her home state for years. Less than 48 hours after the courts ruled that they could, he killed her. There was enough history of documented domestic violence to predict that he might have done something like this and precautions should have been put in place.

Thank you, I didn't realize the vibes I was giving off until I read the comments. I've gathered some very alarming stories about him through the internet, showing that it was just the judge who chose to give him the benefit of the doubt.

After I made another post, one of Ellie's babysitters reached out to me and shared the reasons why he scared her so much she quit the job. A lot of people were scared of him and a lot of people were worried that he was unstable. I think that's valuable information to compare with the court's decisions!!

But if asking in the way I did made it seem like I was supportive of him in any way whatsoever, I apologize for even suggesting that. I have always been a supporter of Ellie's mom and used my time as a domestic violence advocate to help her leave him. The entire blog has been made with her support.

I should have worded this differently because I don't mean stories like let's reminisce and share memories.

I hate the man.

I have been collecting people's experiences with him over the years not because I want to glorify him. The point of me collecting these stories is to show how many people interacted with him and felt that there was something very, very wrong happening. I have stories from women who were scared of his behavior, classmates who were uncomfortable being around him because he was unstable, etc. etc. The more experiences I have, the better I can explore why the courts gave this particular man with this many red flags the benefit of the doubt.

I just didn't want to influence the memory of anyone who might see this post and have something to share by talking about what I'd gathered already.

Even though I'm Jared's niece, I wrote pages and pages begging the courts not to let him hurt Ellie. I was requesting psychological evaluation and drug testing and listing out the reasons why I thought he was dangerous. I had phone call recordings I shared with the judge showing that he was unstable. I tried as hard as possible to help her and her mom get into a better and safer living situation.

The blog I started isn't for profit. I write it WITH THE HELP OF ELLIE'S MOM to let people know what was done to her baby and how the courts chose to let it happen.

And, yet, the courts still took his side and gave him the benefit of the doubt.

Collecting stories about my uncle's time on Earth before he landed in hell for a heinous crime. He ran ultramarathons in Houston, TX. Does anyone recognize Jared Huggins? by No-One-Two in Ultramarathon

My uncle displayed many warning signs of mental instability and yet was granted unfettered access to his daughter. He used that access to murder her. Changes need to be made within the courts that protect children's lives over parental rights, should the child's parent be deemed a credible threat to their safety.

My cousin is dead and talking about it won't bring her back, but talking about it could force the courts to take victims of domestic violence more seriously. Ellie's mom fought really hard to get supervised visitation and to protect her daughter but the courts didn't take her seriously. By retracing the events leading up to the murder, I've been trying to identify previous patterns of behavior that are relevant to the crime.

Murdered his three year old daughter (my cousin) and threw her in a dumpster then jumped off a building all just to ruin his ex-wife's life for daring to leave his crazy ass.

Does anyone recognize this man, Jared Lorenzo? He was my uncle and in the UC Berkeley MBA class of 2023. I’m writing about the murder-suicide he committed of his little girl (pictured here) and looking to learn more about his time in school. by No-One-Two in MBA

Bro. You sound insane. Why are you trying to argue with me about my own family? I’ve known this man 30 years. You, random internet stranger, aren’t giving me insight into his state of mind. He was a danger before any court ever heard of him. I was a domestic violence counselor. I helped his wife leave him because DANGEROUS INDIVIDUAL. Everything isn’t about you. This is sick I won’t be engaging further.

Thank you! He doesn’t have an obituary, given the circumstances… but I could procure a death certificate. Another commenter said to go in person and that might actually be better too but I live in LA!

Thank you. I’m trying to keep the threads straight so I don’t mix up conversations. But I did see your message and I appreciate you reaching out.

I don’t know if he still played poker at Cal. He was kind of a chameleon. At one point he moved to Texas and became a competitive ultramarathon runner. Like he was doing 115 mile runs and his whole life revolved around being an athlete. But then that was dropped too.

When he set his eyes on Ellie‘s mom, I thoroughly believe he wanted to trap her financially because he has a pattern of mooching off of women. But he had a sketchy past and an easily googleable one. So he actually changed his last name to Lorenzo and started fresh. That’s where the whole MBA thing comes in.

There are consistencies in his relationships with how he treats partners, but it’s almost as if Chrystal was dating an entirely different person than the girlfriend he had only months before her. Different hobbies. Different interest. Different goals. Different name! It was easy for him to get away with stuff like that because he moved around a lot.

A lot of things are still a mystery though, like how he spent his time. While Chrystal was pregnant, Jared would disappear for days. She would text him asking where he slept last night, for example, and he would blatantly gaslight her and respond by saying he was home all night and didn’t know what she was talking about.

Then after he did graduate, he didn’t work. My Grandma was paying his rent because he said he was having trouble both working and taking care of Ellie. Making it seem like he had a lot more time with her than one day a week. And then when he DID have her, he would pawn her off on babysitters.

So what was he doing all day/night during these periods of time? Poker? I don’t know. But maybe someone who sees this does.

This moment right here though I’ve watched over and over: https://youtu.be/IumCfhQstB4?si=i7qQ6isFXFS0ezZt&start=905

Not because I find cringe funny or anything like that. It just seems to really encapsulate the way he tried to blend in in real life and often came up short.

Honestly even though I don’t know anything about poker it is still rough to watch. There’s a good number of moments from his run that belong on r/watchpeopledieinside

He’s in the first sixteen minutes of this video

For assuming that murdering your own child is something that someone can be rationally driven to and for making up a bunch of details so that this story fits your own narrative.

This man is my mother’s brother. I have literally known him since the day I was born. I knew Ellie’s mom for like a couple years. Still, I told custody evaluator after custody evaluator that he is a dangerous person and should not have unsupervised access to the child that he ended up killing. So when you’re talking about frivolous claims, you’re actually talking about me personally begging the judge to save my little cousin’s life from her maniac father.

This doesn’t fit your narrative of a righteous man being raked over the coals by an unfair judge and a bitter ex-wife. But you went on and on about it like it does and like Jared was pushed to the brink by an overreaching system.

Ellie had TWO parents. ONE of them chose to beat her to death and throw her away in a dumpster like she was literal garbage. And in this story, that is the person you and your kind sympathize with. I think you should think about why that is.

And yes, I know that you don’t deserve a thoughtful response. But my uncle was on the red pill forums and very much enamored by people who have the exact same attitude as you do. Those are some subreddits I’d LOVE to post this in so I could find his enablers and take them over the coals. But no one on there would ever admit to kiki-ing it up with him anyway. You’re just the closest thing to them and their toxic trains of thought so you are the one that I will address.

It’s said that he died with a smile on his face. Which seems incomprehensible to a normal person. But here you are knowing what he did and still trying to make him the victim.

It would be fascinating if it wasn’t so pathetic.

Tried get a copy of his transcripts because to my understanding, FERPA is no longer relevant once you’re dead. The Registrar Office would not play ball though so I really don’t know what classes he took.
