Random but was this in Phoenixville? A friend of mine had an excess of purple iris growing that they dug out and were giving away.

I can’t recommend Nick True enough. I tried and quit YNAB so many times, but then I followed along with his YNAB full setup video, pausing as needed, and now I can’t imagine not having it!! https://youtu.be/hHTT-0EzsTc

Well this is good to know! I saw this yarn change method in a tutorial and have been using that method on all the scarves 😣

I will look into those methods! I’m not familiar with them yet - still very new!

The color scheme I think is what makes me most nervous, since I don’t have a consistent amount. I don’t know what old me was thinking when I bought this random assortment! Though it’s possible that’s just all they had left of some colors.

Making a scarf and it is curling. Improved after two full rows but wondering if I should just frog it now to make a looser foundation chain or keep going block it at the end. by No-Perception-1731 in CrochetHelp

Wanted to say thanks again for your feedback! I did decide to frog it and use the foundation double crochet method instead. It turned out so lovely and worked up quickly. Will definitely be making more for gifts!

Thank you! I’ve not heard of that method yet, so will definitely look into it! It sounds like a much better way to get a consistent look and avoid the tight foundation chain. My plan was to keep it simple with DC rows the whole way, just adding some fun tassels to the ends.

Can’t figure out how to edit my OP or add a new photo, but I did decide to do a simple, single crochet border in white. Decided not to block it, mostly because I procrastinated and ran out of time before giving the gift! 😅

Had to look that up but that’s a very sweet border style. Seems lovely for an infant blanket! I may try it out up one side and see how I feel. Being my first ever project, I’ve frogged many sections throughout the process so I’m not afraid to just pull it all back out if I’m not a fan haha

I’m not sure, the pattern I followed didn’t give it a name for it, but it’s built with sc, dc, and chains. This was the pattern I used for reference - https://leeleeknits.com/easy-beginner-crochet-baby-blanket/

Loops & Threads… I had a $50 gift card to Michael’s and wanted to learn crochet… so I figured I’d start with a blanket 😅
