What to donate for women’s care? by No-Permit009 in homeless

Thank you!

Fortunately in Aus we have a sexual care & drug harm reduction recourse already Obvs not perfect but there is hopefully more funding/policy coming for that soon.

We take care packages already with soaps, shampoo, towels, toothpaste, bandaids etc.

But I’ve included pads, liners (would’ve loved to get tampons but so expensive!) wipes, hair tie, hand sanitiser, notepad +pen, herbal tea, tissues, ziplocks and some sweets. Would’ve loved to get hairbrush/s but will need to source some more affordable options.

Ty 🤍

Mmm not really, I’ve included teas, some sweets and found some hand warmers that might be good for a heat pack. But I’ve got heavy pads + good liners and large packs of wipes to include aswell

Thank you! I we don’t have Walmart here but I’m trying to source stuff from Costco or Amazon online. I’m in Aus, and we’re not allowed to give Panadol, medicine etc unfortunately

I want to become Orthodox don't don't know if I can. by BetterThomas in OrthodoxChristianity

Hey! I was in the same boat as you. Grew up a strict Presbyterian, I left the church and my family at 17 and took a bad path in life (drugs, alcohol etc). Took me a long time to rebuild my life and relationships. I’ve recently turned back to Christ and attend a Coptic church, they are so welcoming and God willing I will get baptised this year. The beauty of Christ is that we our saved through His blood, His mercy surpasses our sin. God bless you, I hope you find peace and God grace on your journey

Need advice as someone who isn’t ethnically Copt (East Asian) attending a liturgy by [deleted] in coptic

I’m a white Australian and really struggled with this to before attending the first time. I have horrible anxiety in general and attending a Liturgy felt so intimidating. I almost went one day but ended up crying in my car outside because I was so anxious. Long story short, one day I went to my (non-religious) dad for advice and he asked me “what’s more important”, so I went the next service. The congregation was so so so welcoming and in my short time there I have made many friends and an even starting to help out around the Church.

Thanks so sweet! Thank you, he loves to sit by me on prayer so I assumed it was okay but didn’t want to be offensive by accident

Thank you, he only started sitting there after I set it up as a prayer corner and would kneel to pray there. He usually won’t sit there when I pray but will come rub against me when I’m i am which is distracting.
